Life in LOS , Im on my way !

Greatings gentlemen , for the past couple of months now i have been reading these forums with great anticipation at the end of a working day . Life in the UK now has become so bad for me that i just want out , ive managed to rent my apartment on a long term lease and ive got a 90 day thailand visa in my passport at  the ready . What i want to do is stay in Phuket for  90 days  before i depart for Australia for the second leg of my little adventure . What would really be a big help to me is (A) . Information on the LB scene in Phuket as ive only been once for a short stay , (B) Any information on cheap apartments for a long term stay , I know these things have probably been mentioned before and my internet time is now limited as ive booked a one way ticket to thailand on the 12 June , Many thanks in advance

Information on the LB scene in Phuket

Seems to be centred around Soi Bangla in Patong, and the nearby Royal Paradise complex. Checkout out Cocktails and dreams and the beer bars around soi Katoey on the left hand side of soi bangla coming from the beach.

Any information on cheap apartments for a long term stay

don't know much about this but a quick google search found this:

and also C&D have "the Place to Stay" which may be good for a long term rental. depends what you are looking for. Personally I would book a hotel for a couple of nights on arrival and check out places the first coup[le of days.

Here you go,this is a good one..But for 90 Day  LB scene in Phuket is limited...Pattaya is only 1Hrs. away if you get bored.

And flights on Nok Air abnd air Asia are dirt cheap.

I would not commit myself to staying in any one apartment for more than a month.

In Phuket there is a big variation in price between high and low season, much more than anywhere in Thailand. And it's now low season.

Suggest you don't pre-book from home; in my experience the best deals comes when u walk in without luggage.

Phuket is now getting into low season and you can find better opportunities here. Please look at the website www.theplacetostayphuket.com for info. on rentals. There are too numerous ladyboys here for you to meet all in 90 days.

I would suggest you stay with Tom from THE PLACE TO STAY, he bought the appartments off the couple who own cocktail and dreams and all the lady boys know Tom and his Appartments.There basic but have all the essential needs for a cometable stay inc dvd player. I stayed there for 4 weeks, tom was amaized with envy of the comings and goings that i had going on every night

As always you guys come through in great style , found a couple of decent hotels now , £450 for 3 months , need a base camp to plan my comings and goings , im eternally grateful !!

As PigDogg said, just get a place for a week or two and bargain when you're there. You have zero bargaining power on a telephone. When you're there in person, with cash in hand, it all changes.
