Anyone got any idea if this means that the bars will be closed?

Hi Stewart...

I called Kui and she is certain that the bars WILL be closed on that day.

(Thanks for mentioning it... Now I'll be in Hua Hin playing Monopoly that night!)

I just called Bob (Stringfellows) who tells me that he WAS open last year on this day and he expects to be open this year also.

He did add that it's impossible to tell what the Pattaya authorities will do from one day to the next, so he's not 100%!

Called two bar owners I know, one in Bangkok and one in Pattaya. They are both assumin they will be open

The previous major holiday, March 3rd I think, was supposed to see the bars closed, BUT Nana was open while Patpong and Cowboy were closed. Which is to say, its completely random and you'll have to wait until April 7th for me to tell you.

Shit, thats the day i arrive . I checked a few websites which state basically that the tourist attractions usually stay open. There is also a Holiday on the 8th.

Mu understanding and recollection is that bars are open on this holiday as its not a specific religious holiday or relevant to the current King or Queen.

However I am often wrong
