Taxi to Pattaya

I will be arriving for the first time to the new airport and wish to catch a taxi to pattaya.  What is the tariff and where in the airport do i find one?  I understand the taxis are on the lower level.  Same place?

Also is the dynasty inn in pattaya lb friendly?  If not then i will go to the areca as you all have suggested.

About 1000 baht for the taxi

Dynasty Inn is lb friendly and have a side enterance to the lifts, so you dont have to go through reception anyway

Ive stayed at the Areca too, both  hotels

If you go to the Taxi stand on the lower level there is no way in hell will you get a Taxi to take you to Pattaya for less than 1200Baht and that does not include the tolls for the expressway. You can try your luck asking the Taxi drivers dropping off passengers if they will take you to Pattaya for 1000Baht but don't hold your breath.

always use mr tooms service,1200 baht including tolls,very reliable,will be right in front of you when you exit customs,with name on card,prompt replies to emails to [email protected].
For coming back 800 baht taxi meter (plus tolls) is fine for me,can book at kiosks all over the place.

1,000 Baht? That's a laugh... Try 1,600 from the airport maybe 1,300 if you are lucky.

If you can find a modern a/c taxi for 1,000 then I'll eat Cindys knob!

OK im wrong about the 1000baht fare  
I have never got a taxi from the new airport to Pattaya

But I did get a taxi from Nana to Pattaya for 1200baht, so presumed it would be a cheaper fare as it was nearer

It cost me 500baht from the airport to Nana

I forgot TIT

P.S. I will eat Cindy's knob as a punishment

Hey Guys
Catching a taxi from Airport to DIG I guess would be about the same as to Nana (500bht), correct?
Also going to Pattaya should I ask the hotel in BKK (DIG) to make my taxi arrangements or find one on my own. I see the concenus on price is around 1200bht plus tolls;  I am not staying at the Dynasty (I know the have a free shuttle) in Pattaya I 'll be at the Jasmine.
If any ones around for a drink and some hunting I will be in BKK  March22 to the 26 then on the 26 off to Pattaya for about a week.

met a couple of mongers from Alaska while waiting for luggage. we went to departures and i negotiated a fee of 1000.  

much closer than the old airport and i was paying 1200 for a car service from don muang.

anyway we each kicked in 400 so in an addition to the 100o and the small toll driver got a tip and was happy.

the original driver we hired switched us to another cab after we got out of the airport so he had to get a cut so the second driver was obviously willing to go for less than 1000.

the second driver was great and did a slightly longer route when we hit traffic.

bottom line a new yorker, two alaskans, and two thai cabbies were happy.

time to spice up the knob...

I use Mr tooms as well. Price is 1200 including tolls plus 2 bottles of free beer or softdrink.

By the time i reach the LOS, I am rarely in a mood to mess about & just use the Limo service, I used to use the Thai Airways Limo service, but that seems to have disappeared at the new airport, so i just used AOT, fairly frightening prices tho', 2300baht to Pattaya. I used Dynasty Grande Bangkok Limo service to get me back to the airport, 900baht.

..wow....I did the airport to Nana Hotel twice in October 06 for 180 Baht plus I paid tolls(60 baht I think it was).......I went up stairs and took a meter taxi......

 I know you can mate, but after you have been travelling for nearly 18 hours, from the I just wanna get to the hotel  and am quite happy with 500baht including tolls
It did drop from his first request for 800baht + tolls however , to which I told him to "swivel" so both parties were happy in the end

I pay 1800 Baht to Pattaya and always throw in 200 Baht tip, the Guy I use is reliable and the car is clean and relatively new. Fast efficient and always on time.

Mr. Tooms service for 1200 seems about right for me. You arrive after a long trip and you want someone reliable. if thats what his service is like, then go for it.

Having said that, when i want to go to Pattaya from my condo in downtown bangkok I stop a meter taxi and get the trip for 1000 baht (plus tolls and a bottle of water for the driver) and they go for it everytime.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!
