  • How to fake domestic calls

    Guys,
those of who are in the less fortunate of situation has to lie to gain our temporary freedom. I have thought about going to Thailand for a long time, and my plan is to lie to people that I was going to a business trip. It's not believable at all if I say the place is Thailand. So I have to fake it's within US (luckily I should have no problem saying I was traveling the whole time, kind of muddy up water a bit).
The only flaw in this plan as I see, is that I have to call home during the trip. How do you fake a domestic call while it's really international? Or do you really need to? And very importantly, these US carriers probably just don't work in Asia anyway right?

Cingular does....you need the right phone that is GSM/GPRS tech and 900 to 1800 freq...

they use AIS, Orange and DTAC in LOS and the roaming charge is $1.99 min...and I think the access is only from Thailand to the USA...

    kinda steep...but might work....

my pops uses international calling plan with her ATT/Cingulair plan. So it is possible. In fact when he called me it showed up as his domestic phone number on the caller ID.

personally i would just not call.....

        008 + country code + number.

6 Baht a minute anytime of day or night!

I phone my family in the UK when I get bored on a bus in Bangkok!

        So the UK would be 008 - 44 - **** - ******

Not sure of the codes for other countries.

The code for the US is 1  -  so as Stoogie says dial 008 1 **** ****  to get the cheap rate.

If you are dialing from a fixed phone then dial 007 1 **** ****  and you get about the same rate.

For a list of codes try this link:- Dialcodes The second column gives the code to call to a country.

Here, I can block my calls by pressing *67 before I dial any domestic number. I do not however know if a similar service is available internationally. Also bring those prepaid international calling cards. after you've done all your country codes, and accessed the cards 800 number, it is the cards 800 # that should show up on the call screen back home.
