Anyway, I have thought about it long and hard. I am going this year to bangkok, anyway I have some questions.

As I am 19 is it wise to go on my own?

Also is it cheap enough to go in summer....or a bad idea?

bangkok is as safe or safer than just about any city in the world.  

best bet is to read this forum and when in thailand meet up with some forum members and have them show you the ropes.

Remember the air fares will be higher in the summer - either book at least 60 days in advance - or if you're a gambler try and get a last minute offer.

Prices in Thailand stay the same throughout - only thing is the really popular hotels will be hard to get into - but not impossible.

BTW by summer I assume you mean US summer? Remember the seasons are dependent on where you live

Hey welcome to the forums, as has already been said theres no real bad time to go. Best time to go is as soon as possible.
An don't worry i was the same age my first trip as well an beleive me it's alot safer then u probably think. Of course you will be a bit nervous at first an not just because your in a strange country you have never been to before but cuz of all the hot ladyboys just waiting for you to stroll into there bar, just go in there and have fun , we all make some rookie mistakes but there nothing serious an it's part of the experience. Have fun!

And if your really not sure about going it alone then arrange to meet someone off the forum to show u around, theres bound to be someone over there. As you will soon find out no one can get enough of the LOS.

First time I went the first ladyboy I picked up from KC3 in patpong was a post-op.

The season makes a huge difference to me. I live in the NorthEast US. near Boston, and I love going there in the summer time for mainly 2 reasons. 1. it's slow season in LOS and I do find the prices to be less expensive, and also less farangs 2. It's easier for my body to acclimate from summer to any Thai season than it is for me to come over in the middle of winter and immediately get dropped into the Thai heat. Your blood can't thin itself quick enough, and your body will compensate by sweating. A lot. Now it may be different for others, but this is the one big difference I notice. I usually stay +/- 3 weeks and the opposite happens when I return, after by blood again has had time to thin itself a little, coming out of Logan airport it feels like it's 150 below zero.
One more thing, (sorry) if you do like rain, you won't be dissapointed. I've seen some of the wildest rain storms, so heavy it seems to beat you down, and over as soon as it starts. It also seems to clean that BKK "smell" out of the air if only for a short while.

The only seasonal based decision for me is to not go to the little islands in the Andaman sea by boat during rainy season. But those islands are not mongering spots anyway.

My advice is to go for the ENTIRE summer. Your big expense is the airfare. You can easily find hotels in Pattaya for 15 bucks or less. You can eat there cheaper than at home.
