main advice is check out lao laws re farangs sleeping with lao nationals. sounds very dangerous; laos is not the land of smiles.

I've been to Laos 2 times. But never been with a LB there - only a GG. There was a report at one time suggesting look at the beauty shops/salons (same as in Thailand).

What PigDogg says is true, its different there. Although I did not have a problem. I met a girl there - had made previous contact thru the Internet. Met her - she came back to my hotel 3 nights - no problems (except them trying to hit me with a joiner fee). Went back and saw her again - checked into the hotel with her by my side, again no problems. But I have heard stories of others having problems - esp. outside Vientiane.
