i had a great time on Ko Samet.  many different beaches with different ambiance and think the best beach for bringing a ladyboy is Sai Kaew Beach.

would recomend spending a few extra baht and staying in a nice hotel., as many of the cheap hotels are not too comfortable.  very laid back place, practically no cars and mostly dirt roads.

http://www.aopraoresort.com/resort/sai_kaew.htm   is the safest choice with the deluxe cottages being nicer.
EDIT IN: From this website the Sai Kaew Beach resort is my recomendation as the Ao Prao Resort is quite isolated from the rest opf the island and hjas too much of a rich western feel to it for my taste.
