this was prompted about the thread that mentioned the Q-Bar in Bangkok....if we all list a few that we like and why we like them it may be helpful to the guys going there. No go-go bars, we talk about those enough in the main forum.
Vice Versa, Soi Cee; great place in the soi cee complex off Ratchada road. 99% Thai people from about age 18-24, 1% goofy white guys like me. NO white women
Hip-hop and modern rock tunes, some Thai mixed in; crowded and fun; many ladyboys from the cabarets come here to dance around midnight, and it's also very easy to get laid by regular girls here. GenSex, this is where we always hang when we go, 'member?
Rad, Soi Cee; similar to above but more crowded, Vice Versa better
Hollywood Disco, Ratchada Road at Soi 6
Big place, holds about 1500 people, mostly Thai but a few falangs mixed in and always some ladyboys, they usually go there in packs with their friends. I have seen many girls from this website in there over the years, just having fun with their friends. Expensive for Bangkok and the music is just so-so, but it's big, roomy, and air-conditioned so you can be comfortable there and have fun.
Lava, Khoa San road; Dark and sweaty, with a good mix of tunes and about a 50/50 crowd of falangs and cute Thai hookers, no ladyboys; downstairs about halfway up the street on the right from the Burger King; could use Air Conditioning for sure, plays heavy bass and hip-hip tunes with no techno or rave music.
Immortal Bar, Khoa San road; my all-time favorite bar in Bangkok, this is above the Lava and now plays similar music but the crowd is more bohemian in style and has an I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude that is cool and not judgemental at all. The owner and his wife are friends and treat me very well and they know what I do but don't care; I have even taken ladyboys in this place and no one batted an eye even though they were the only ones in there. 2nd floor above Lava on the right-hand side, this used to be the only heavy-metal bar in BKK but the owner Fah had to change his format when they almost went under in 2003; now it's packed every night with 200 people in a small room that should hold 100.

), The Dome at the State Tower (it's actually quite a tourist place, but the view is simply breathtaking!). If you're into gg's then the Gulliver (it's actually a huge pub in soi 5) is a must! And the new kid on the block: Titanium, Soi 22. Quite a different bar with an all-girls rock band ("smells like teen spirit" - style....very funny!) and a Wodka bar on the 1st floor with -6 degrees C inside and shivering waitresses wearing a kind of Ao Dai!!!!! Hahaha....well you have to be different somehow.....
