Every Thai bank is a little different.

With Ayudhya Bank for certain transactions you need a one time password that expires in 12 minutes. Once you get the password you enter it into the confirmation screen on your computer.

Luckily I am grandfathered and can receive the password by email but new account holders can only receive the one time password with a Thai mobile phone.

If you ever need someon in Thailand to quickly email a code to America, just let me know DT.

Advice: Dont deposit your home currency notes with KBank.  I exchange those at the specialist providers like Vasu Exchange in Bangkok.  Rates are usually 0.5 - 0.7 baht better on sterling (& an extra 0.1 on largest demonination notes!)  Which is worth having on any larger amounts of cash.   Not sure if TT Exchange in Pattaya (no relation   ) is as good as Vasu on rates, but better than all the bank exchange booths.

Not aware that Vasu offer any money transfer facilities, just cash TCs I think.

Vasu deals with cash only, no traveler's cheques or debit cards.

They give the best rates for cash exchange.

Rx, is there a Vasu in Pattaya? If so, I can exchange my US $ there and then take the baht to deposit at Kasikorn (assuming they give a better exchange than Kasikorn)

Sorry DT, Vasu is only in Bangkok - only one branch I know of on Sukhumvit Soi 11.
