Best MALLS for shopping in BKK

So, with RxPhrm talking about Panthip Plaza I started thinking about what malls should be "required visiting" for all Farangs that enjoy shopping.

EyeMahk mentioned Fortune Town which holds interest for me, as I'm a vinyl junkie:
"There are some old vinyl in a shop in the basement of Fortune Town (Rama 9 MRT stop)."

What other mega-malls can you experienced hands recommend?

I would nominate MBK - easy to get to, National Stadium BTS station. Not very expensive when compared to Siam Paragon, Central, and the Emporium and a vast array of stuff you can buy, practically anything from A to Z!

Not a mall, but chatuuchak (jj) weekend market is not to be missed

For clothes shopping, platinum mall near panthip.

I agree with Snick: Chatachuk weekend markets but go early, before noon as it gets stifling hot in there. Also if you are XXXL sized its very claustrophobic in there: but you can buy anyhting.
MBK: Good and cheaper than the biggies.

Gottta agree with Chatuchak - it's an experience. However if you're an animal lover, or even mildly interested in animal rights, avoid the animal section - it's full of birds that most definitely shouldn't be caged and dogs, cats, etc. suffering from the heat and crowding.

The Esplanade is pretty nice but not super close to central.

It's up on Ratchadaphisek Rd, north i believe.

I specifically went there for the ice skating club but they have bowling and a cineplex too.
The movie theatres in Thailand are awesome.

MBK is the best mall for shopping for souvenirs and all the brand name knock offs. This seems to be the only place they really allow it now. I see police chasing vendors away in Chatuchak that are selling Lacoste and all the usual knock offs.
Chatuchak is the cheapest market and the Pad Thai there is incredible. However there is limited amounts of the kind of stuff tourists like.
Lots of very unique and local stuff too tho.

Platinum is great for womens clothes and has some men's too, you will find unique clothing you will not find elsewhere.
