Yes I endorse APPLE 110%. I have mentioned her taxi service numerous times before. Clean, reliable, safe driver, and she will not argue price. She has said to me many times; "Steff, you pay me what you want" She has driven me back and forth to the airport, to Pattaya, and even pick up my date in Bangkok and drove her to meet me in Pattaya. She is also non-judgmental with the gender of your date.

I'm a bell bus convert these days - exception value and as long as your flight links up well with their timetable- it's a good choice.

Incidently, last time I took the bus a new road out of pattaya was open and the trip to the airport was very fast

But really the point of that post was not the baht, rather the stupidity of people who try to exploit someone when a viable alternative is 20 metres away.

It's like the bank robber who chooses the branch next to the police station - just not well thought out

Overall 99% good experience in Los like most others.

I have had a few taxi men with slighty fast meters over the years but a 10 thb or so off, so nothing to be concerned about.

On 1 occasion I did have a guy whose meter was running 2 times faster than it should have, so...........................I just got out, paid and grabbed a new one, simple.

Another time I was with a Thai friend and the guy gave us a song and dance about needing to drive out of the way for gas due to the time of night etc. I wanted out but she wanted to stay ..................after some time passed.................she cursed him out and we paid a more fair rate and got a new taxi with gas

Ii happend but as others said 98-99% are fair to above and beyond.

By the way she has excellent customer relations etiquette. After every trip she usually emails me the next day to thank me for the business. She even emails me back in Canada to say thanks and how she looks forward to servicing me (taxi) again. She is an absolute pleasure. Sweet gal also.

i just took a taxi trip and it was the perfect controlled test to see if they fuck with the meters.

There and back - same conditions:

Zero traffic - highway, no traffic lights, no detours, same high speed.

fare there 224 baht
fare coming back 160

difference : 64 baht. That can normally get you quite a distance.....

A seventy year old Thai man singing Elvis VERY LOUD from Khao San Rd to Suvanabhumi is a lot of bad Elvis....
Still I tipped him.

Last trip, I had a motorbike taxi driver singing in broken English among other things "Hotel California", John Denver's "Country Roads" and CCR "Bad Moon Arising" and "Cottonfields" while weaving ridiculously through traffic. I was singing along with him. Insanity. You had to be there. Another typical Bangkok day
