That's a fantastic story Paccie, and well told. I'll remember that one for a long long time!

I hope Paccie's condition improves by his next trip
Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage

My condition?               You should be so lucky to have my condition...

I dreamt about that Seppo last night, the first time I have recalled him in such a long time. I remember he had a moustache & a close beard (no goatee though) & he worked in sales but not shoes. (I may have been summoning the ghost of Al Bundee, the only American shoe salesman I know of.)

I have to acknowledge his chutzpah in inviting me to dinner knowing he didn't have the money to pay for it. And then he had the nerve to order more food than we could ever eat. When the painted lobster was put on our table, I had never seen one bigger.

A shame that hardly any of it was eaten by us. I hope the staff enjoyed it.

And for Pattaya fans, I should mention that the place was a jetty restaurant right where Walking Street is today. We could see the water through the boards under our feet.

As much as the dinner didn't end how I would have liked, I can recall it like yesterday. It is one of those memories that like good wine, improve with age.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I'm still a huge fan of the series "Married with children".  It's Al Bundy, if you allow me to correct you.

I loved the show too. And you are allowed to correct me anytime. Thanks...
