(Jake_Sully @ May 20 2010,00:46) You're always welcome to join admiring Mariano and Jeter Lefty.

On a more serious note I hope whatever happens, happens quick and doesn't drag out for years.
Gosh it is hard to say what team I'd gravitate toward. Probably a small market team like Milwaukee or Minnesota.

Just as loyalty to my friends PigDogg and George Costanza, I may take you up on it.

(manarak @ May 20 2010,00:49) they need to catch Thaksin
180 grain .308 caliber projectile fired from a high grade sniper rifle could catch him just fine.
As we used to say back in the day, catch him right about where his suspenders cross.

They already did that to his buddy Sah Daeng-but the govt has NO IDEA who did it....... Maybe they should hire those detectives you see on the A&E show THE FIRST 48.
        Be careful out there!

I think the only detective capable of finding the killer of the rogue general would be:

          "Lt Frank Columbo"

Now here's a thought for those of us in Pattaya looking for some fun tonight...

I have nothing to do with the bar in question (and apologies if this contravenes any rules) but the theme seems perfect for the fellow pervs who are here at the moment (and there are a LOT of us)... especially if there are enough ladyboys willing to dig out the lingerie and head down there with us before 9pm and rock the joint until 5am (yes, they are locking you in from 9pm with drink on the go until 2am when you no doubt stock up for the remaining three hours).

Worth a shot? Reckon they'd refuse the girls entry?

Is there anything inherently wrong with our bringing some mild levity to the situation of some rogue general getting capped?

I would think not. Unless there could be some red shirts lurking in the shadows of the forum. I think we can count on the always dependable Bumpa Stikka to keep the forum ranks red shirt free though.

Thailand extends curfew for two more nights

BANGKOK, May 23, 2010 (AFP) - Thailand on Sunday extended a curfew in Bangkok and 23 provinces for two more nights for "security reasons", emergency authorities said.

"The CRES has extended the curfew for two more nights from tonight in Bangkok and 23 provinces from 11pm to 4am for security reasons," an official from the Center for Resolution of Emergency Situation told AFP.

Four nights of curfew have been enforced after a rampage of arson and looting broke out in the capital in the wake of a crackdown on anti-government protests.

The new curfew hours were shorter than previously. The measures had been in force between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am for the past three days.

                      Not in Pattaya...

Back to Normal - Pattaya Curfew Cancelled

At 7 PM on Friday Night the news broke that the curfew has officially been lifted in Pattaya...

This follows a meeting held at Pattaya City Hall earlier on Friday where a number of business owners pleaded to the Pattaya Mayor to get the curfew lifted which they felt was uneccesary as there was no intelligence suggesting that any riots or other disturbances would take place here in Pattaya.

Upon consultation with Police Leutenant General Asawin, the Region 2 Police Commander, the curfew in Pattaya was lifted, although it remains in force in other areas around Chonburi Province which remains under a State of Emergency.

sorry to disagree -this is news from this morning.

And at current on all Thai channels they are showing some very incriminating evidence against the Red shirts and their leaders.

As this will probably not be appreciated by them the have continued the curfew.

And for futher information: as much as I respect the current mayor of Pattaya -having met him at many functions - the fact reamins that he is from a Red Shirt family....

                            mb,
might that mean the mayor of pattaya, in the face of his own practical/political concerns, and remembering that "all politics are local", utilize his family connections to 'arrange' for a peaceful, prosperous and curfew-free city?
and (although this sounds a bit far-out to me even as i type the question) could such arrangements become a template province-by-province as the country sub-divides into a virtual red and yellow partition?

He was heavily criticised last year for allowing the Reds to storm PEACH -the convention centre at the Royal Cliff - where the ASEAN conference was being held. This angered the middle class who rely heavily on tourism money.
I can only guess that to keep them happy he lifted the curfew and at the same time asked his Red friends to keep thier cool....

interesting posts MB i think we can well assume that the problems are in no way over.
reading various news in thailand, and if what CRES says is true then thailand has been on the brink of civil war.reds with bombs automatic weapons and tortching the city not excatly a demonstation is it?
preparation for conflict more like.not good.
