Apple's taxis...

This taxi business is run by a very nice Thai lady by the name of Apple and her little sister who once lived in Ireland for 6 months , so we are practically related  

Myself and my friend Ciobha met them at BKK airport about a year ago and have been using them ever since .

Friendly , very reliable and more importantly a very safe driver , like many people shes been hit by the economic downturn so I told her I would be more than happy to recommend her to friends and get her some business .

She also lives very close to the airport , so she'll be there before you get your passport stamped

Just to reinforce what Jim said, I would highly reccomend Apple.

I know a lot of people on the forum have their preferred taxi company, and promote them on the forum, but Apple should definitely be considered for your journey. Always there on time, and highly reliable. In fact I believe one time the poor lass was so poorly she should have been in bed with a lemsip, but true to her word she got her boyfriend to drive, and picked up young Jim as promised

I just sent an email trying to organize them to take me to Pattaya on May 12 with a return trip to BKK on the 16. I hope it works out. I would like a reliable company I can depend when I visit.

If so, she was a saint. I had her waiting a good 30 minutes whilst I searched for my Thai bank card, and when I realised it was lost, she went way off route to stop at bank branch (out by the airport) and waited for me to get reissued an atm card, no haasle.

If she hadn't gone the extra to help me I would have been buggered for the night in BKK - actually I wouldn't have got buggered and that would have been the problem

Yes thats her , quite a journey that day

As for price I've always given her 1200 baht BKK-Pattaya or Pattaya -BKK , she drives a nice big car .

You could maybe negotiate a cheaper fare but for the sake of a few hundred baht and given that she has to put up with listening to us giggling like school boys in the back its a fair price to pay

Last trip I emailed her only the night before I travelled (I'm very well organised )
She hadn't got a chance to read my email and I didn't bother to phone her to take me to downtown BKK as it was Friday rush hour , so I jumped into a airport taxi .

Next day she turned up at my hotel to apologize at not seeing my email , fair enough you could say she was chasing my business but its handy to have someone you know and trust and don't have to haggle with .

Airport to Nana soi 4 400 or 500baht including the tolls .

I paid 350baht with a meter taxi from the airport , but once you add the tolls and the surcharge from the airport its the same difference .

I contacted her via email and told her I was arriving in Swampy late on May 12 and wanted a quote for taxi service to the LK Renaissance in Pattaya. She got back to me within 24 hours and was delighted I contacted her. She quoted 1,100THB inclusive of tolls but followed up with saying if it was too much I could simply make her an offer. She was extremely polite and professional. She asked for my flight number and time of arrival. She said she would be there holding a sign with my name. She also said she could make herself available to taxi me back to BKK from Pattaya on the 16. I like her so much I then contacted the LK Renaissance to cancel the taxi service they arranged for me.

Thanks for the tip. I am sure her service will be terrific. I will let you all know afterwards.
