(Bumpa STIKKA @ Feb. 26 2010,19:42) This stuff is fantastic. The Lonely Planet would give their eye teeth for a trip report like this.
    Haha, Thanks. :-)

Well, just came back from a stroll. Had dinner and checked out the location of the Hilton to perhaps hunt some freelancers later this week. Passed The Caddy Shack and Kip was already there, however without make-up but still looking cute. She told me that she had helped to open the place. Who actually owns this bar? It almost seems that it is an employee-run-and-owned biz.

Will have a rest and then head over for a coffee and see whether the 2 of us can work sth out. Would not mind not having to sleep alone tonight.

After my initial shock of HH, it looked so much better today. Whereas Pattaya is basically a party town - I would even call it a mega-whorehouse, HH has the feeling of a resort. Many regular tourists, couples mainly - probably because it is not holiday season, so no kids.

It also seemed cooler than Pattaya just before sunset. The light was terrific for taking photos.

The nearby food stall market I just discovered would even please and satisfy my budget-conscious buddy Pigdogg ;-) Just could not find any 100 Baht foot massage places. These seem to be a specialty in Pattaya.

Great review Chinaman. I had heard people talk about Hua Hin before but didn't really know much about it. After reading your thread it's changed my perspective.
I'd be keen to go check it out next time I'm in LOS.
          Cheers

This is my 5th day in Hua Hin and basically I have been lazy as it has been very hot. Getting up late morning, breakfast at my usual place, then a walk through town, taking some photos, an afternoon nap, a light dinner and perhaps a walk through the bar area were more or less my daily routine.

Tomorrow I will be heading for Chiang Mai and I am looking forward to that. HH does get a bit boring after a while ...

On my second night I barfined Kip from The Caddy Shack, the lb which had caught my eye on the first night. It must have been after 10 p.m. when we left TCS and when I asked her whether she wanted to eat sth, she only fancied some french fries at MD. But then she suggested to go dancing and I really am beyond my dancing years ;-( so I thought this might not go too well. Nevertheless, the night was pleasant and although I do like some action in the morning, she finally stayed until almost 5 p.m. the following day which was a bit too much for me, and so my 2nd day was mainly spent in bed sleeping and ...

In retrospect, she was a nice girl and experience, although the glamor from the 1st night in the bar got lost a bit when in the room.

I have to agree with people who say that it is probably better to bring your own lb when visiting HH, as apart from TCS I only noticed an odd one here and there. I also discovered no street scene, although it might start later than I was out, which was a pity as walking Beach Road in Pattaya usually wets one's appetite and even Chiang Mai has some street action.

Others will be able to chip in experiences from a different perspective, but I am not really sure whether I will come back to HH. I found hotel prices quite higher than in Pattaya with a lower standard. Same seems to apply for food and drinks and there is far less eye-candy and far less action when hunting in the wild.

HH is laid-back and relaxed, but so can be Pattaya.

I might head back to TCS and check out Annie or another cute lb who has been featured on BB's photo thread quite a bit, but then I might also just be too lazy tonight and save my power and cash for Chiang Mai where I usually met cute streetwalkers for a nice ST.

Here is a pic of Kip ...
