  • I have a lot of questions...

I have been reading all the threads about Bangkok and my desire to go there is pretty much dead. Sure, I would love to have some "sexy time" with Eat, Jenny and some of the others, but it is sounding like a pain in the ass.

I am thinking I should just bolt right for Patts.

I made a reservation at the majestic Suites and I know they asked for some Baht down. If I call and cancel, will they still charge me? I am due to get there on the Jan 1. If they do charge me the deposit, it would still probably be worth it to skip out on BKK.

Also, there are a million of hotels in Patts, I should be able oy find one, right? I have a reservation beginning the 4th in Patts.

    What do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

what is that that makes you think Bkk is a pain in the ass? Do you think the lbs there are more into topping you?

Seriously though, you really should experience both, because some guys find they prefer Bkk over Pattaya or vice versa. If you skip on on Bkk, this time you won't know.

As usual RXpharm is right...   (is the bastard ever wrong?...    )

Criticising Bangkok without ever seeing it is like the guys who hate Thai food but they have never tried it.

I personally find it a big polluted city & I go straight to Pattaya from the airport. But don't ever condemn Bangkok to me as it is one of the most exciting cities in the world.

I have heard the arguments about who has the better looking girls, about where you are more likely to have trouble, etc.

My justification really boils down to logistics - Pattaya is a seaside town where the entire place is dedicated to hedonism with 1,000's of bars & 10,000 GGs & LBs all within easy access.

To cover all the areas in Bangkok in one night is just impractical. And when the traffic gridlock is in place - impossible. Plus I find money doesn't go as far in Bkk as Pattaya but despite all that, I recommend all BMs should visit Bangkok to see for themself.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I couldn't agree with Pacman more. (And good to see you posting.. I was beginning to wonder what had become of you!) My first trip I spent 2 nights in Bangkok and then moved on to Phuket and then Pattaya, then a final night in BKK before flying home. I enjoyed BKK and Pattaya in different ways, I'm not going to try to compare them, but I've pretty much decided I wouldn't want to go to LOS and not spend at least an evening in BKK. And you have IMHO the perfect hotel in the Majestic Grande. If you can splurge a bit for one of the larger Grande Deluxe rooms ($120 US including all taxes on Agoda) it's a good bargain for the luxury, and literally across the parking lot to Guess, and then across the street to Nana Plaza.

As for staying in Pattaya, you should have no problems finding accommodations. From what we hear, this is a High Season without the High, and my guess is that you could probably even find rooms in the usually fully-booked places without any problems. That's only a guess though so do your homework if you're determined to skip BKK despite the recommendations otherwise.

Contrary to something I said earlier, I will offer one bit of contrast between BKK and Patts. For me, BKK had much more interesting things to do during the day, such as river tours, tours of the palace and temples, than Patts. And for me it made Thailand much more than just a place to go and get laid, it sort of helped to give me some cultural and historical perspective.

Plus the Guess Bar and Nana Plaza experience....

          Hi Gradys,

Should you choose to skip Bangkok. You won't have too much difficulty finding accommodation for a few days in Pattaya. The PBR is fully booked but many, so many others still available.

Thanks so much for your perspectives. I feel a little more relaxed right now. There are some ladies I definitely want to see in BKK. I shall mention Eat once again. I was just reading that article in the Bangkok Post that is on this board and it was making me a little uneasy.

I am scheduled to stay 3 night in Bkk and I will just play it by ear. I am looking forward to going to cascades, Obsessions, Guess and the others.

Also looking forward to Patts and seeing my other dream girl Jen in Ezy and Pookie in Gemini. Speaking of Ezy, is Bambi still around?

Some other lovelies I have not heard of lately are the classic Rose and Bee. Last i saw them they were working in a bar together on Soi 8. Now that would be a 3-some for the record books.

Thanks again for taking the time gentlemen.

That article is describing how lower Sukhemvit becomes a zoo after midnight, as a tourist you'd probably find it enjoyable - especially since a lot of LB go there after closing.
It is NOT dangerous, just ignore anyone who wants to sell you drugs or a package of counterfeit $100 bills.

You should check out Bangkok, and Nana. Pattaya is great, but Nana is 300+ LB in a single location. Nothing else in the world can match that.

There is plenty to see & do in Bangkok night/day.  Why skip it, especially as it's only three days.  You might find you like it.

Alright, I made it, and I am ever glad I followed through.

Got in late last night and rushed to NEP. Great girls and great fun. Saw many familiar faces, but missed out on Eat. Temptations right?

Anyone in town going out tonight looking? Would enjoy meeting a fellow enthusiast. What time does Guess open?

I think Eats is out of the scene right now. But ask at Temptations.
