  • Tailors in Pattaya

Sorry to dredge up the subject of tailor shops, but after years of avoiding them, costs and sizes in Japan are leaving me little choice.

Most of the info I could find here was about BKK, but I won't be there long enough. So I'd like to know if you guys have any recommendations in Pattaya, preferably locally owned and operated (I'd be willing to pay a little more for a pleasurable experience, than to deal with the likes of some of those who go to great lengths to test my patience).

FYI -- I don't need any suits, just shirts and pants.

    Thanks for your time.

I'll show you a bunch of Thai tailors behind Tuk Com though I have no specific recommendation. Foggy also knows a good one but forget the exact location but it's close to Sunee.

Think you're best bet is to bring shirts/pants that you really like and show the tailor the material/style you want.

Marco Tailors 2nd rd 100 metres past Pattaya Klang on right hand side going north. Husband and wife business been in Pattaya many years, Had plenty of shirts made there . No complaints. I usually take a very good fitting shirt from home for exact size to be duplicated. And tell them what style I want

I know what you mean Farangbah. I usually have to head out to Rinku Town out by the Airport to get clothes that fit, and spend half my time looking for the mystical Extra-Large size that never seems to exist here in Japan.

For just pull over Polo Shirts, Khaki Pants and the like, I recently discovered that Jusco has a section of Japanese 4L thru 6L (American XL to XXL) that should fit you. Also, Eddie Bauer carries Western Sizes and you can find Blue Jeans and Pants at Costco and believe it or not Uniglo.

I have a Costco Membership and am planning a supply run on my return to Japan after New Years, on my from Pattaya if you want to tag along and use my card.

I know this doesn't really answer your question about Pattaya, but might help you out when you are back home in Japan.

And since I am also considering getting a suit while in town, I will do some recon for you before you arrive.

Certainly wouldn't be opposed to a little LB "fitting" (but I don't usually go in for middle-eastern LBs).

But seriously folks, thanks for the input.  PD, thanks, buddy -- see you in a week or so.

DK, I do like a good mom 'n pop operation -- will look into it.  Cheers.

And whrw, I just might take you up on your offer -- been meaning to hit that place.  It'd be good to stock up about then, for the long, ass-end of winter . . .

Hey, Foggy, thanks for the offer. Very kind of you.

But it looks as if I'll be moving on to other ports in Thailand around the 29th or so. Do you think you could describe it's location to PigDogg? He seems to be somewhat familiar with the Sunee area.

I know more or less where it is as i went there once with Foggy. Not sure the exact shop or the lady's name though.

I think try a couple different shops and see which one does the best work.

By cutting out the middleman you should save some baht.
