Hua Hin advice needed

After reading BBs excellent HH report with all these nice fotos I have decided to spend on my forthcoming tripa few days in Hua Hin.
I have not made up my Thailand schedule, so am I rather flexible.
Will arrive Bangkok (after doing Philippines first) on January 9th around 4,30 pm from Manila.
What is now the best way to go from Suvannaphumi Airport straight to HH ?
I would prefer there to stay on the beachfront (or near to) and as close to the barstreet as possible.Hotel should be upper middle class and of course more than LB -friendly ( as I usually show up in larger groups).
Unfortunately I could not find any hotel recommendation so far in the various reports.
Can the big Hua Hin experts help me ?

From Suwannabhumi direct, grab a taxi. 2,600 baht I think is the flat rate. Beachfront hotels close to the bar street are Hilton and Sofitel. I wouldn't want to predict their friendliness to a fleece of ladyboys, however.

The owner of the Fat Cat Guesthouse (thefatcathuahin.com), right on the waterfront adjacent to the bar district, with a great view, is a major l dick licker. Offer him an extra big top girl from your entourage and he may give you the room for free. He's a bit in the closet within the town, so don't be put off if he pretends at first not to know what you're talking about. He's just being shy. Trust me. He totally takes it up the poop chute, practically daily with a variety of skanky characters. He's sure to appreciate your consideration.

I used this guy in April and was just fine, nice 4x4 car and was waiting exactly where he said he would be at the airport, entrance 3 in departures. The cost was 2600baht but i was staying about 45miniutes drive further south of HH so not sure if price would be cheaper, but as i say nice new car and safe driver.

Just to add to Mister Ree's excellent suggestions - its worth understanding that apart from the hotels he mentioned, there are NO upscale places within walking distance of the central area - its the Hilton or the Sofitel and thats it. All the others are outside and certainly beyond easy walking distance. For my money, I would hazzard a guess that the Hilton is marginally more LB friendly - but its just a guess - I have not stayed at either. Sofitel is v/nice and actually owned by Central (the dept store group) but operated by Sofitel. Hilton is the home of the only late night live music band that could be considered of an international scale - I think it was called the Hua Hin brewery company from memory. There are a couple of good 3* places - but you are not going to be getting all the bells and whistles the (deserved) 5* properties offer.

Hiltons right on the beach, opens out onto it,so that may swing it for Ernesto,thought about staying at the Hilton myself love to wake up in the morn and look out from my balcony to the Thai gulf while my cocks firmly up a lb,s ass
may give it a shot,good location but others along there,some apartments also a 5 min walk along beach heading south, short term rented apartment worth looking at.i prefer them to hotels.

Hi Ernesto,

PM me for the number of a local taxi driver from Phetburi who will do the airport-HH run for 1600 Baht. Also there are two new resorts just about finished between Market Villiage and Kao Takiap- both beach front. The Big yellow one was at the stage of landscaping and cleaning windows when I left for work 2 weeks ago, so should be good to go. Either is only 5 minutes from town centre. There is a couple of guest houses that seem to have been rennovated of late in the town centre too... I probably should scout around when I am home in a couple of weeks and update information.

The taxi fare of 1600 bt is about right if you use the Hua Hin locals......................I had one take me direct from H to Patts for 2,500....and that included a detour to BKK to drop my "friend" off........

Gee I don't know cuz. Only the thread by Burenboy on this forum, plus the Hua Hin forum HHafterdark, two other Hua Hin forums that spring to mind, and Google, yahoo and a few other search engines, plus libraries etc etc. Tell you what, why don't you just kick back and relax and we'll do all the research and send it to you? I'll be home then too. Can I arrange a sedan chair for your outings perhaps?
