    Staying a month in Pattaya?

Later this year I'm changing jobs and I'll have a little over a month off between jobs.

Being the highly cultured individual that I am, I was thinking about spending my month off in Pattaya.

I'm seeking reccomendations on someplace nice that I can get a good monthly rate. If possible I'd like someplace with a pool.

    Any reccomendations?

tons of places but you should check them out firsthand

if you are only there for a month, the Pattaya Bay Resort seems a good option - in part during the low season

if you are on a tighter budget, I am sure some BM who have stayed there LT or still are might come up with ideas

I'm sure we've got lot's of ideas between us, but some idea of your budget/standards/location would help us to help you

Yep... PBR for one month was 14,000 baht last year if I remember right...

Can't beat that if only for the security and peace of mind!

Only problem with those 14k per month rooms at PBR is they are too small. Ok for a few days, perhaps a week but for a month, I need more space along the lines of a studio condo.
Have a look at one of the half a dozen or so LK apartment residences, all of them have pools.

                      Agreed!!

I think the Mosiac Appartments are quite a find, certainly worth checking out next time I am in Pattaya.

Can anyone confirm if they are too close to the noise coming from the Arab quarter or elsewhere at the south end of Walking Street?

That would be a deal breaker. Perhaps someone who has stayed there can give their opinion on the sound disturbance, if there is one.

Otherwise, they must be in contention for the best value place to stay in Pattaya.
Good work Batman         love to Robin...
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

Pattaya Bay Resort low season monthly rates are a pretty good deal.  You can find cheaper but in a location that might not be ideal for the month resident.

What's especially nice is that extra nights beyond 30 are only 500 baht, prorated exactly.   Many places will try to squeeze you for the daily rack rate on additional days and most people don't stay for exactly 30 days.

The low season weekely rate is great too.  999 with the 7th night free and brekkie for 2 if u can wake up.

For the guy staying many months and willing to sacrifice location for price there are cheaper alternatives but for the 5 week guy who isn't on the tightest of budgets, I'd recommend the PBR.

Here's a cheap alternative for the 3 week guy.

                    Good deal

No noise whatsoever from Walking Street or our Arabian brothers. It's too far away.

It's about a minute's walk from TukCom and Cat's Place.

It's easy enough to get places but somewhat inconvenient to bring back girls unless you walk, flag down a baht bus on Pattaya Tai, or hire a private taxi.

Coming home alone an EZY walk, I would stumble even further from EZY Bar in the wee hours, but girls in heels may not like.

                      As mentioned above, no pool.

I was recommended the Mosaik by Xyzzy but after some email correspondence with them I was put off booking up.

Firstly I was a bit disappointed that none of the rooms had microwaves, fans and only one set of towels and cleaning (and internet) was not inculded in the monthly price. So considering I'd want my room clean (and sheets changed!) at least 2 or 3 times a week and I'd need use of the internet, suddenly the rooms weren't looking so cheap.

There was also some confusion and debate over how I would pay addittional days over a month.

The first room I enquired about was a standard studio, but soon discovered that the standard room photo'd was unique and the other standard rooms were not as nice and had a slightly different layout (without sofa area) - the 'unique' room was also heavily booked and usually went quickly. I also asked about the one bedroom and prestige but again it was a similar story.

With all the rooms seemingly different, and just about every room pictured on the site heavily booked, I was put off booking a random room with the add on fees. With this said I'll be keen to check them out in person soon, the location is ideal.

I've always been a big fan of the LK Pavilion thanks to Pen tire. The location is probably a bit far out for some and it can be a hassel crossing 3rd rd, but I've managed to get a very good rate there now (which I could probably get for others) and the rooms and staff make it very pleasurable for long stays... It also has a pool and daily cleaning service!

I usually stay here, check it out!
It may, or may not be what you want!

That's near the very inexpensive Nirun Condos. When I tried to look at 9 Karat there were no available unites to show, so I guess a popular place.

Some Nirun units can be rented for only 5K/mo and there's two swimming pools.   I even saw one long term rental at the Nirun for only 4K.

I think 100 baht a day is as cheap as u can get for a food budget, that's another 3K a month.

re Karat: The definitely should invest in a better photographer, none of the pics seem too inviting.

They only seem to have 4 rooms. No wonder they are usually booked. Or I misread or there is a mistake on their homepage.

Size of the rooms is good, but obviously no internet which nowadays should be a must have.

Well, might all look much better in real ...
