  • Anyone else changing travel plans?

I had booked myself for a couple of weeks at the first of the year. However, due to the current situation (my job would not be understanding if I got myself stuck in Thailand pas my vacation days), I feel forced to cancel hotel reservations and get a refund on my airline ticket.

Anyone else doing the same. I can't see these protests as doing any good for Thailand's economy.

As a dedicated ladyboy/shemale enthusiast, and suggestions on where to spend my hard earned travel dollars?

No but I am lucky and still have a few months to go.

I'm hoping though that due to the slow down in tourism a few more cheap seats will become available.

I am driven by a need to keep earning, hence I am due to fly into Mumbai to work there for a couple of weeks, after which time I am hoping that the Bangkok Airports will be open as my next job is in Bangkok.

even if i have to re-route, but think (hope) the current problems will be over by then.

might have to consider re-routing option or even cancellation eventually

I was really looking forward to my first holiday season in LOS and unwrapping a festive LB on xmas morning

A BKK Airport official was reported as saying that it may take a week to reopen the airport after the protesters leave, because the computers etc are 'compromised'.  It won't open without some delay, that's for certain.

So I've made contingency travel plans, to return to Land Of Frowns next week, via Singapore - if my next weekend's Qatar flight can't make it to Suvarnabhumi.  Then I could travel by rail to the Land of Frowns  ...  or just   at Orchard Towers for a few days R&R!

Have planned to travel on 17.Dec. arriving 18.Dec in the afternoon. The current Situation is worse. OK, I still have 2 weeks, but if the AP is still closed on 10 of Dec I don´t see a chance to fly. The reopening of the AP will take at least one week. So lets wait and check the news.

I think there will be a Coup eventually, but only if the government uses force, then we have 1991 all over again

BANGKOK, Thailand (CNN) -- Anti-government protesters said Monday they would abandon their three-month siege of the Thai prime minister's main offices in Bangkok and join thousands of fellow demonstrators who have occupied the city's main airport.

It will take longer. One week for the Thai authorities to get the airport back in shape again, and THEN they have to invite in the international airport inspectors because so many things have been compromised
