Loy Krathong in Pattaya

I've been in Bkk & CM for this, never Pattaya, does anything much happen with lanterns or krathongs in ceremonies anywhere? I'm thinking of going then... haven't been to Pattaya in a long time. Thanks

Pattaya celebrates Loy Krathong in a very big way. There is a lot of beach area from Pattaya all the way to Jomtien and people are busy launching Krathongs along the whole beach.

Walking street is especially busy.

gogo's typically raise their barfines way up to capitalize on your desire to take your tilac out and celebrate the evening.

I was there a few years ago and the sight of a long string of glowing kites up in the sky was incredible. Last year I was there as well and they stopped the kites, realizing that launching flaming bags over the whole city was a fire hazard..

I went last year and it was lots of fun. Go to the beach between 10-12pm, and people will be putting Krathongs in the water, shooting off fireworks, etc...

Plus all the LB at Pook Bar were in traditional Thai Dress and it was HOT

I'll probably go again this year, unless I go to Ayuthaya. But Bangkok is just boring for Loy Krathong

Worth seeing for sure , I was in Pattaya last year at that time , hot girls and ladyboys in traditional dress , westerners looking like twats in traditional dress , didn't Monkeyman take some nice shots of Noon all dressed up and looking sexy ?

I believe this year Loy Krathong is the 12th November and I will be in Pattaya at the time, so should be fun    

The last time I experienced it was on Patong Beach a few years back and loved it

I much prefer the celebrations associated with Loy Krathong.

At least you manage to keep dry, unlike at Songkran.

Have purchased a Krathong myself, and floated it out to sea.

Many of the bars get into the spirit with traditional costumes.

I was in Pattaya last year for Loy Krathong. It's a big occasion with most of Beach Road lined with stalls selling krathongs interspersed with food stalls. Great to see the ladies dressed up in traditional costume (but those foreigners !). Unfortunately Pattaya was a little breezy, so the krathongs were struggling in the choppy surf and it was a little hazardous being around those homemade fireworks ! As a change of scenery I'm trying Bangkok for this one...hopefully not too choppy down the Chao Phraya !

I stumbled though Pattaya one Loy Krathong celebration....

It will make you see Pattaya in a whole new light!!

Take part in it, enjoy it and it's one time Pattaya is truly beautiful
