One 2 Go have grounded all their planes. Nok air have also suspended all flights to phuket.

Air asia is the only budget option

I think PanzerPorn is joking, but to set the record straight 1-2-Go is a crap airline and no one should ever fly it. period. search the forum for horror stories

          Use Air Asia

So far as I'm concerned it's a perfectly acceptable airline for backpackers.

I used Bangkok Airways on a recent multi-sector trip

Our Flights from Pattaya to Koh Samui and then on to Phuket were with Bangkok Airways and we returned to Bangkok with Air Asia. ( would recommend Xpress Boarding    )
              I cant fault either Airline

I pre-booked everything from here in the    because I knew what my Itinerary would be plus the fact I was with my girl so didn't want any "hassle" and "time wasting" messing about over Flights whilst in

If your travelling alone I doubt you will have any problem getting Flights when you want the day before you intend to travel

                    Good Luck

Just to let you know, 12Go is definitely out of the picture as of now.  Nok Air is now operating Bkk-Hkt only on weekends.  Therefore it is not a matter of the price going up as you get closer to your travel date, it is if you can even get a seat!  People have been waiting on stand-by in Bangkok to get flights to Phuket.  I seen one customer last week who took a bus from BKK because of no seats for several days.  Another arrived last friday evening and he got the last seat on that plane.  Book your flight early.

One nice thing that Bangkok Air offers is their travel pass system.
You Have to purchase from your home country in advance, and specify the first leg of your trip. You can then use the remaining coupons whenever you want (but you can't use the same route twice).

It very useful for flying Bangkok->Samui->Phuket->Bangkok , when you don't want to commit to any dates.
