Hotel rates, buddhist artifacts & nightlife...

Hi I'd be in thailand late this month and I'm wondering if its cheaper to book from asiarooms or should I book when I reach Bkk?

I actually extended my return flight but have yet to extend my hotel booking from asiarooms.

Also I'm wondering if anyone is into thai amulet collecting? Quite curious where are the good temples or trusted dealers to go to?

Lastly, I'm wondering where the nice nightspots are that I should check out? I wouldn't mind hanging out if I look and feel decent after some face work

Book ahead of time... rack rates are killer here. AsiaRooms is as good as anywhere.

Be careful with the amulet collecting as the real stuff fetches a fortune. Most stuff we will see will be very good imitation,like the antiques.
I thought a lot of amulets had a more personel meaning?
Unless so called blessed by one of the head sheds?

I'm getting some cosmetic surgery on the face    I would probably venture out if I don't look too nasty from swelling or bruising haha. Naang Faa did recomend a few guys here who are nice to hang out with haha so I probably would give it a try since my BF goes home a little earlier and I'd be super bored.

Question though, I'm quite curious when the BTS website says "6 mins" to destination - Is it really 6 mins? Its from the pratunam area (current hotel is Residence Ratjavaee?SP or something) to emporium mall...

I'd probably want to get another hotel near emporium but USD$55 and below if the "6mins" is more like "20-30 mins" travelling time. Any suggestions?  

Well, it could be purely pyschological but I've had some good results wearing amulets (career and opposite sex attraction haha). I know there's probably a ton of fakes out there as well as abysmally priced artifacts hence I'm wondering if there are trusted dealers. Maybe I'll just pay the 4 faced buddha a visit then. Oh well.

The BTS schedule is fucked...

The Emporium is on Sukhumvit Soi 26 or so...BTS station Phrom Phong...From the Nana station they state it's a 3 minute ride...I'd say closer to 10 or 15 minutes...

I sometimes wait 5 or more minutes for a train to arrive...

It is however usually much faster than taking a taxi...

If you're planning on staying in Pratunam I would suggest you check the location carefully...BTS doesn't go to Pratunam...I think you'll find it's quite a hike to the nearest BTS station...

One other suggestion...If you're planning on shopping at the Emporium...save your pennies...It's very nice but very expensive...

If you are around the Suk 4 area, head over to Guess Bar with your BF...You'll both enjoy the bar and the girls...and there is usually a few of the crazed guys who post here around...

I'm gonna extend my stay in another hotel, but I'm torn between these 3 -

1. St James Hotel
2. Da Vinci Suites
3. Euro Grande Hotel

Prices are within budget but I'm wondering if anyone has experiences with these hotels?

As long they don't have cockroaches, is clean, comfy and has internet or some english telly channels - it'll be great for me.

Mmm I booked the St. James already Hope its gonna be decent!

Surprisingly cheap on Agoda @ US$350 for 7 days!

I have no idea why Asiarooms cost a whopping $135 per night.
