Any BM's ever booked a flight or even heard of Dialaflight. The reason i am asking is because they are advertising flights from London to Bangkok at Christmas, for as little as £550.

Maybe i am a bit cynical, but it seems a bit dubious to me,as everyone else i have checked with (Last minute.com etc.)are charging from £1200.

Any feedback greatly appreciated, and may even be rewarded with a small sherry in Guess bar.

    Cheers

The answer is no I've not even heard of them.

But those cheap seats are attention grabbers to get you to a website.
They really do exist but it will be something like 5 seats on a 350 seat aircraft.
Plus there will be all sorts of restictions like no cancellation, no changing flight times, no airmiles and on and on.

If you want one get in very very quick!

I would google them and have a look at that and see if there is any press. As RR said, jump on it quick if its real.

I usually book my own flights over the internet, but have, in the last 12 months, used Dialaflight for a number of long-haul trips including Bangkok.

They have been good with both economy and business class, but not much use when I wanted to use frequent flyer miles for upgrades (But that is generally becoming more difficult and virtually impossible in high season).

        Three important points -

First, I need to go the quickest, fastest, routes - I will change planes, but I want a minimum stop-over time - I will not take 24 hours to get to BKK - I want a night flight and I want to be in BKK in the early afternoon - That always costs more.

Second - If you do business with Dialaflight get the name, phone number and email address of the Agent to whom you speak - and use that person, and that person only, every time. The staff is paid on commission and if they see you as a frequent user of their services, they will cut their commission to improve your price.

Third, before you make contact with Dialaflight, do a little work first yourself, using TravelSupermarket, Expedia, Oporto and a few of the other web-based Travel sites - If you know what is out there, then you can use that knowledge to leverage Dialaflight to be more competitive.

The way prices are going at the moment I think you're right.

it seems to be the period from 22nd december through 4th Jan which is the highest prices, same as every year, as most flights are full with people going to and from Oz and NZ for the holiday period

I often check prices with dialaflight but rarely use them.

There is no live booking or seat checking on their site, they are a telephone booking service, and the prices they advertise are for the cheapest possible seat for each month (which you'd be incredibly lucky to get).

For UK to Bangers flights I check kelkoo, Opodo, ebookers and lastminute to get the chepest date and price, and then call a couple of the phone lines, i.e. dialaflight, southhall and co and see if they can beat it with a bit of haggling over the phone.

With dialaflight you often get one of the wideboy salesmen on the other end, who treats you like a mark, so it's nice to know you can get cheaper elsewhere.

I tend to think everyone on my Flight from Manchester to Abu Dhabi is en route to Bangkok    and only lately have I realised some or most of the passengers maybe be connecting to Oz, NZ or wherever

I always use this site myself for Flights to

Have heard of dial a flight, but use sta travel or opodo most of the time.
I tend to stick with what i know like these and asia rooms.
