Just signed up to this site and coming to Thailand for the second time for the new year. Spending two days in Chiang Mai. Anyone have any good bars to go to?

A year ago when i was in Chiang Mai , two best places where Marina Bar and Simon Cabaret , but seems like Simon Cabaret in that neck of the woods is closed down now , my  suggestions check out Marina Bar ( is that still open ? ) and if you got a centrally located hotel just do a wander around the streets nearby when its starts getting to about 11pm , other options might be asking a Tuk-tuk driver if he knows somewhere that has some ladyboys , of course most of them will just take you any old place and tell you they not understand so probably last option in your quest , good luck

been told marina bar is gone

a good place to try would be the juciy bar on loy kroh road the moat end if the owner is about "sakorn" buy him a drink and have a chat he was the guy who original trained marina in the bar business before she decided to try her luck

he will definatley know what to do and where to go

just walk around on loy kroh street (the one with all the bars)...about 11pm...there are a lot of beautifull LB`s hanging out there in small groups..

Baklaboy is the man to ask, he has been living up there for 5 years now. Also he mentioned to me there is a second marina bar open up there now.

Will be heading to Chiang Mai on April 2nd for a few days, so hope to be able to provide some more up to date information for the forum.

Already have a few leads that require further investigation.

More information and pictures when I return from Chiang Mai, but can tell you that Marina Bar is still operating, as I enjoyed a few drinks there last night.

The other bar in the same complex is called the Shamrock Bar.  Has a large pool table and half a dozen ladyboys.  
A couple are cute, one is stunning, and the balance have great personalities.  

The stunning one, which would have TT Chang, Kahuna Or Katoeylover falling in love again asked me if I was free today, as it was her day off.  I was almost in tears when I replied that my Thai mother in law was coming to town, so I couldn't meet her.  

Checked out a few other venues with my own personal tour guide (a former Marina Bar LB called Far), which made locating everything very easy.  I tried explaining that it was my job to seek out these places and report back.  

No shortage of attractive streetwalkers around the city as I wandered around near 2am.
