  • Hat Yai - Satun - Langkaw - KL

I'm getting out of Thailand for Songkran - after 17 years here, I can't stand the ridiculous nonsense it has become.

So, flight to Hat Yai, one night there, bus to Satun and one night there, ferry to Langkawi where I will stay for three nights before flying to KL. After two nights there, back to BKK.

Any up-to-date advice on the 'scene' in these places much appreciated.

Langkawi is good for swimming ! Suggest you catch up on your rest and save your energy for KL.

Lots of girls on the street in Hat Yai. No club action I'm aware of. KL has girls from Thailand. but no one ever seems to have seen a good looking one.

Satun and Lankawi? You can tell us, after you get back.

One night in Hatyai is best spent on the main tourist soi, where there is a McDonald's at the corner. Stay at a hotel called "New Season Hotel", reasonably priced and very clean room. Usually from 10pm onwards till very late, there should be a dozen or so LBs there. Check out my trip report on Hatyai for more details. Mostly still accurate. There's a LB cabaret in Hatyai, get directions and head out there.

Information on KL can easily be found with a simple search on the forum. In a nutshell, the LB action is pretty much confined to 2 areas in KL, at the front of Beach Club (opposite the Shangri-la Hotel) and its vicinity (along Jalan Sultan Ismail). The second rougher spot is Chow Kit/ Lorong Haji Taib area. Last night I was checking out the area with a visiting BM and we spotted pockets of LBs in these areas, ranging from skanky to beautiful, from indonesians to thais to Malaysians plying their trade there.

Don't know the scene in Langkawi (been there a few times but me LB radar was never switched on).

Satun might as well be saturn to me, don't know much about either place.

Please update us once you have done the trip, especially Langkawi & Satun. Happy hunting.
