Don't be sucked into these so called cheap deals. There is always a price to pay and that is delayed flights...........and I mean delayed!

I have been delayed  6 out of the 7 Thai Air Asia flights taken ranging from 1 hour to 7 hours. So think carefully ...........

    TIME V MONEY

Nok Air is a little bit better but I have heard the same stories about there on time problems. Seems you get what you pay for.

if you are connecting to an international flight use Thai Airways and pay the extra for peace of mind.

If they choose to keep the budget airlines at Don Maung like Air Asia and relocate the bigger international airlines to the new airport that would be fun watching people miss contecting flights. Most airports would say you need 1 to 1.5 hours transfer time but if Thailand goes down this path you would need 1 to 1.5 days to transfer. Let the fun begin!

I fly AirAsia a lot, and in my expirience they are only late about 25% of the time, and then it's usually under an hour. Only once have I had a delay over 2 hours. And for the price, I'm willing to risk it.

THAI is better, but not perfect, I have had delays on domestic THAI flights also.

However if I was using AirAsia to connect to another flight, I would leave a lot of time or switch to THAI.

( these is no way you could do a connection from New airport to Old, even moderate traffic would make that a 2-3 hour drive )

(Snick @ Jun. 10 2006,10:33) AirAsia to offer 9 Baht fares
That's cheaper than a Pattaya baht bus!

My Airasia experience (frequent flights KUL-BKK-KUL) is great. In 1 year just 1 flight cancelled and had to wait from 7 AM until 10 AM for the next. Airasia provided food coupons for a breakfast then.

The route is now operated by new A320s .... nothing to complain from my side.

I've flown Air Asia twice and both times had bad experiences - LONG delays of 2+ hours each time. I've heard lately that its been improving, but as other members have recommended, for critical flights or connections, you'd be wise to choose another airline. However, even at full fares, Air Asia is significantly cheaper than most other airlines, and you can't beat that!

Think it's visa on arrival, the same as Thailand.
