Some general info required...

Ok Brothers
its that time again when i make a trip to Thailand as my schedule finally gets a large enough gap in it

so a little advance info would be appreciated from the guys in this forum

so the nightmare of the new airport is settling down and they appear to get the taxi thing sorted

question 1

i will be going through the airport on Friday afternoon arriving on eva air from London so any comments about the airline and the airport at that time ?

question 2

will be in bangkok on 9th may so is there anything special happening around this time

(cant wait for the new guess bar as the last one was my base of operations last trip)

question 3

will be in chang mai for about 7 nights whats happening in chang mai is the marina bar still the only game in town is there any new places to go

so any recent info would be appreciated guys !!!!

Pot luck at the airport, but your timing is good for party at Guess Bar.   Bring a birthday present for monkeyman, though!   .....  See separate threads

As TTC says the airport is pot luck but I would not expect any real problems. Friday afternoon inbound is probably one of the moderately quiet times.

Only thing is the traffic into the city - though you should be OK until you get around Ekkami. ie expect it to take about 40 minutes if you are staying around Nana.

Reminder...at the airport there are 3 immigration stations...if the first one you approach has long lines, keep walking to the next station...the middle station usually has no lines...

Agree on the immigration part. The first time I was at the airport, stood 10 minutes at a line that looked as though it was 40 minutes worth... till a young sweet-looking airport official whisked us lot to another section, some 50 metres away where there wasn't a q-line forming at all.

From then on, I know not to follow the herd.

anybody got any news on the eva air flights as this is the first time for me with them

so the marina bar is no more which wasn't unexpected as she was always drunk on tequila by the end of the evening

so nobody was watching the business

anybody got aany other news about where to go in chang mai now ?

Prof frink just head straight for the meter taxis ,I was had by the feckers in the airport, all over you like a rash & 900 baht later. Enjoy My friend TTC ,Stogie & the boys will look after you !
