bbb2k2, Atarax is hydroxyzine, an antihistamine and not a "true" sleeping pill per se. One of the side effects of the older antihistamines is drowsiness.

If you have to go back to work soon after your return, you will probably think business class is worth it!

I just went to the pharmacy and said I wanted to sleep on my flight home. I guess Atarax is also good for people who don't like to fly.

I land at 08:30 in the morning and plan to go straight to work. So I guess a comfortable flight would be nice

I've enjoyed all my previous trips to LOS, so I see no reason to stop doing that.

It will be interesting to see my GG to LB ratio on this trip. I would not be surprised if I end up around 50-50.

Take three changes of underwear and socks, kitchen size garbage bag, 6 terrycloth washcloths, soft soap and wet wipes (baby kind) in your carryon. Stretch every 45 minutes and get up and walk around. Drink a lot of water. Whenever you feel like it, go to the bathroom, use your t-shirt and underwear as a platform, and give yourself a sudsy spongebath, wash your pitts and crotch and ass and give yourself a shave and brush your teeth. You'll return to your seat refreshed and without travel grime. Put the dirties in the garbage bag, and return to seat refreshed.

(PigDogg @ Jan. 20 2008,21:32) Row 44 on the Thai non-stop is great.
Just to clarify this is on the JFK-BKK route.

Could be a different plane or configuartion on European routes.
Thanks PD, I will call Thai tomorrow to try for row 44 for next weeks flight. But is 44 emergency row?

BTW, ever since I discovered the little thai pills that make you drowsy but are not sleeping pills, I no longer fly in the front. Along with music on the noise separation earphones.

Noise canceling earphones are a must.
Also get an empty seat next to you and a pair of monks behind you...which is what I got on my last flight with Thai

Loose fitting clothes are also a good idea on a 17hr flight, and mouthwash or something for your breath.

44A-44C-44J-44K is the emergency exit row.

44D-44E-44F-44G  is the mother of all bulkheads, the widest I've ever seen.

Sorry PD for not contacting since that last time. Sam seems to have been running on a short conveyor belt with the the belt running faster and faster.

Well I never got to remember to call Thai about the 44 row seats. Arrived at JFK about 1 hour before departure without a preassigned seat. The clerk assigned me 49J. So me being the last passenger to check in for the flight I remembered 44 and I asked her if 44J was available.
Looking up and recognizing that she was speaking with the one and only Pampamsam she changed my seat to 44J "and 44K is also empty" she tells the surprised Pampamsam.

I guess I owe you one PD, well maybe a few.
