Lockdowns are stretching out the Pandemic way longer than it should be.
Slowing the curve also slows the recovery.
At what point will quarantines in Thailand actually end, maybe never.
Why are people still so scared of this?

As said in the video, they recovered after the tsunami within a few years, they will recover after the Covid19. This doesn't mean that every one is going to win. We won't see some businesses again and new ones will open and grow up. It may be time for someone who wants to invest money to do it if he/she doesn't need fast returns on investments in the short term.
I'm afraid though that Phuket will develop on an upscale clientele what doesn't bode well for the ladyboy industry. I do hope I am wrong.

Phuket is a ripoff. Do avoid the Yorkshire Hotel. Secretary bitch demanded I buy her new shoes. Fuck herself and the faggot bellboy who helped her invade my room and steal my camera batteries knowing I would be gone all day on a speedboat visit to Ko Phi Phi. Fortunately my bags were securely locked up and tethered to furniture with SS multi-strand cables and non-TSA locks. Remember there's only one party street in Phuket while there are many in Pattaya. Never going back there. Now got only ONE ladyboy bar. As the Thai saying goes, "Do good, get good. Do bad, get EVIL.
Funny how business has been on a long downtrend since I first visited Thailand in 2012. It's like a slow death for businesses all over the world. This pandemic may not be the final straw. After MERS, SARS, Flus, and all kinds of respiratory and otherwise we are paying for our sins of overpopulation and consuming the earth's natural resources and leaving filthy wastes behind. We have overheated the atmosphere and melted the icebergs. Already past the point of no return. We have created our own extinction thanks to globalization and greed for money. After Corvid19 there will be other diseases and probably more dangerous like AIDS where there has still been no vaccine developed. Imagine a new sexual disease that will kill you after a few days incubation period. Want to wait a year for another vaccine if there can be developed one? Corvid19 seems to be a disease we deserved. Still a 6-month wait for the vaccine. Luckily we old-timers are going to be the first to be vaccinated along with first-responders, hospital workers, and nursing home citizens. But what about the poor nations who don't have super-refrigerators with sub-zero temps? DHL has planned a strategy to make thousands of flights to deliver vaccines around the world. Take places like the Brazilian rainforests where it's almost impossible to reach people so deep in the jungles. Still got a lot of voodoo practitioners and cannibals. Lots of malaria and TB to go around.

Why would someone risk their job to steal camera batteries? As I say i never use locks and have never had a dime stolen in 28 trips to Thailand.
Phuket is a rip off however. The local "mafia" has controlled prices of taxis tours and many other things.
The other thing I don't like about Phuket is it is over developed. Nearly the entire island has a coat of concrete.
There is not many ladyboy bars but there is still tons of ladyboys. Plus there is more than just Bangla street on Phuket.
There is bar and entertainment areas at other beaches beside Patong beach.

You need to be more positive dude.
You only can see the bad side of everything. That is what they want you to think.
Bad humans, we all suck and are ruining everything. Nice how we all hate ourselves these days.
Hate your country and hate yourself. Wake up man. You are great and your country is great.
Nothing is hopeless.
You need to stop reading all the gloom and doom crap you are obviously reading and read some thing positive for once.
The world has undergone extreme climate change for it's entire existence. Climate Change is largely a way for many to make money where there should be none.
Carbon credits and climate tokens are merely made up mumbo jumbo to charge you money for nothing. (No Chicks for free either)
That's the way you do it

AIDS has been neutralized. There is actually a vaccine, it is call PREP. What do you think that is?
You could call it a therapeutic but it is pretty much the same function.
The Covid vaccine will get distributed properly, do you think people are just sitting around pulling their puds for 8 months?
Everyone has been working on vaccine distribution and logistics.
Pfizer said in a statement that it supplies existing vaccines to at least 165 countries, adding, "We are confident of our capability to deliver and store doses to the destination's governments designate, according to product shipping and storage requirements."

Your USA Army has it under control:
Operation Warp Speed’s central goal is to develop, produce, and distribute 300 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine by January — and the military is intimately involved, according to Paul Mango, HHS’ deputy chief of staff for policy. It has already helped prop up more than two dozen vaccine manufacturing facilities — flying in equipment and raw materials from all over the world. It has also set up significant cybersecurity and physical security operations to ensure an eventual vaccine is guarded very closely from “state actors who don’t want us to be successful in this,” he said, adding that many of the Warp Speed discussions take place in protected rooms used to discuss classified information.

You will probably get the Vaccine first unless your Democrat Governor blocks it for political reasons.

George, you always complain of whatever place you visited; I have also seen a post about Brazil in which you cry about rip off. The main topic is Phuket, please respect it.
I sometimes found that Patong Beach (not Phuket) is expensive. A forum like this should open a black list for each place and keep on praising insteresting ladyboys or tourist places. For my first time in Phuket, I stayed in Phuket town. I rented a motorbike since I was really too far from Patong to hope going there. That was the end of the rain season, not the best choice indeed. 2 years later, I had found a room close to Bangla road (just one block away) that too noisy when I felt like sleeping. I then moved to AT9 Resortel about 1 km away from Bangla road. I didn't mind walking there but it may be a bit too far for some guys here (and for ladyboys walking with high heels). I had a price of 600 THB a night, I guess the price rose in the following years. I add a few photos to the post.
Phuket was almost the ideal place to pick up a ladyboy and go with for a long time in islands but prices rose too much and I haven't been there since 2015. It's true that prices are higher in bars, with ladyboys, tuk-tuk, shops or trips. If one don't take time to negociate and compare, it can become tough. I remember my last morning an idiot driving a tuk tuk screaming ("tuk tuk !" behind me as if I was going to become shy, apologize and ask him for a ride. I also put out Noopinky, the ladyboy with whom I was in 2015. She wanted to go out to expensive places or she would tell her mates she was with a cheap charlie.
That was nice to visit islands with a ladyboy picked up in Thanon Bangla.

I have read from a Brazilian guy who's fond of Phuket about 1 year before the covid 19. The guy described an activity of freelancers but also ladyboys mixed with GGs in bars in Karon beach or Kata beach. I am convinced new ones will come back when everything is over.

I spent almost a year in Thailand back in the late 00's and Phuket was pretty rocking then, but C&D's was the main attraction. They have had all sorts of problems with the mafia over the years which has not always been great for the tourist market. Fingers crossed some new investment opportunities will be seized post COVID and maybe even some incentives provided.

Soi Croc closed in about 2012 or so. After that time C&D was the only bar in town for ladyboys.

There is other places to party and find ladyboys on Phuket besides Bangla.
Kata beach and other areas also have entertainment streets.

One cannot say that C&D was the main ladyboy bar before the curfew in 2014. Jimbo didn't tell the truth about the end of the business. He pretended he was looking for another location but wouldn't find it and maintained the business till that day the cranes came and destroyed the building. C&D was probably illegally staying in the premices when construction workers came and deconstructed the place.

Yes the beaches are so beautiful and expansive. Hawaii's beaches are losing their sand. Especially Waikiki where they are experimenting with rock sea walls. Surfers and environmentalists vs. City Council and oceanographers. When I surfed there during my younger years in high school and college in the 60's there was lots of sand for the tourists. Now I am dismayed to see photos in the newspapers of huge concrete drainage and galvanized steel water pipes exposed. Really shameful to see. Yes, Thailand is a great Paradise so long as it is cheaper and allows escort-friendly hotels. Pattaya is for me. Lots of new blood every year, great restaurants (Seems Pig & Whistle might be gone forever. Hated that they don't control their German cockroaches hiding in the condiment bottles when I go for breakfast), and shopping for cheap stuff like tank tops and Tshirts (Pattaya Night Market, Pattaya Walking Street, Royal Garden Plaza, Mike's Shopping Mall). Better to ride the taxi from Bangkok for 1.5 hours. Phuket really does have ripoff taxi drivers. Once I read a newly wed couple was picked up at the airport and driven to their hotel. The driver stopped halfway and told them to pay the full fare and carry their bags to a waiting taxi. Fuck these bastards. I told the management to complain to the tourism board and city council about these criminals. They laughed. Thanks God. Thanks Lucifer. Didn't know you were sitting on my shoulders all this time. As the Thai saying goes, "Do good, get good. Do bad, get EVIL". Hasta la vista!
