I don't know if he would be thrilled to be described as a 'hero' given the negative connotation accompanying it.

A better epithet would be 'the heroic Pentire', a fish from a completely different kettle. Not that I am inferring Mr Pentire is a fish, I am employing a literary device to explain the subtle difference.

Another adjective perhaps more apt would be 'shagmonster', a new word I learnt today courtesy of urbandictionary.com.

I am sure he will be most pleased...
