I'm happy that bars getting rid of the underage workers. It's far easier for them to read these ID cards and spot fake ones than it is for me.

okay, here's my potentially naive question , if we're talking 'legal age' in thailand, isn't the age of 18 irrelevant for p4p? i was "told" that in the p4p business the "legal age" is 21. or is that all bollocks because p4p is *all* illegal in thailand, so the age thing is just to prevent major crime (underage sex) versus misdemeanor crime (prostitution)?

I think there are two ways to look at this: first prostitution is illegal but the punishment changes based on the age of the partner involved. I think that at age 18 and above the punishment is small enough (if it were to ever come to that) that it doesn't matter.

The second way to look at it is that we all have in our minds what we think is the minimum age of someone we want to go out with. That minimum age for most of us would be greater than or equal to 18. Personally I'd prefer above 20.

I was in Minou again last night. Had a good time as usual. The atmosphere in the bar is just fun. Too bad there aren't more customers. Maybe that is what makes it fun. Anyway, if you are around give the place a look.

I was under the impression somewhat recent laws required girls working at bars to be 20. But you didn't get in trouble if the where at least 18. Hell who knows anymore TiT.

OTOH, the age limit to work in a bar was recently raised to 20.

In Thailand you must to be 20Y.O. for to be on age, but in many beer bar I met girl of 18Y.O.

I asked info to the mamasan, and they told me then for to work in the beer bar of Pattaya to be 18Y.O. its ok.

In April 1996, the government of Thailand passed stringent anti-prostitution laws with the most severe penalties reserved for those involved in child prostitution. Now customers, procurers, brothel owners, those who force children into prostitution and even parents, face long prison sentences as well as large fines. The penalties under Thailand's new Prostitution Prevention and Suppression Bill are as follows:

1. Customers

2-6 years jail if prostitutes are under 15
0-3 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18

2. Procurers  

1-10 years jail if prostitutes are over 18
5-15 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18
10-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 15

3. Venue Ownersr  

0-15 years jail if prostitutes are over 18
5-15 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18
10-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 15

4. Parents  

4-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 18

5. Those who force or torture others into prostitution

1-20 years jail
Life sentence if prostitutes are seriously injured
Death penalty if prostitutes are killed

I would bet the few customers that i see lounging around are from this forum . thats how it seems judging by the replies.

I did go in five nights on a row as i was seeing Lun who works round the corner .The guys who frequent the plaza are not interested in Ladyboys so they arnt potential customers. It was dead or near dead every night... shame really...maybe it will change but i doubt it now the fBs are out .

I told her i would send some more customers...
