Funny thing is the transliteration of baht is actually spelt like bath บาท so that maybe why so many people write it like that, especially Thais. It is really not incorrect at all.

Friends, Romans, countrymen lend me your ears.........I thought that upside down "J" was the "ah" vowel......and my Thai grammar book has it spelled b-ah-t which matches how you wrote it in Thai..........but translating Thai to English allows for a lot of variation I think

Well the transliteration is

bor bai mai - บ - pronounced like b as in baby
sara aa - า - pronounced like a as in father
tor tahaan - ท - pronounced like t as in tender but transliterated as th

There's no 'official' or standard way to interpret the Thai language into English so Ozzie is correct, however all spell checkers and dictionaries will write the word as 'baht.'

As the word 'bath' is a common one in English it would be better to stick with the more convenient 'baht.'

Learn or practice some basic Thai the LadyboyForums way!

Instead of risking that someone would get wet,when expecting money,or getting money while standing with the towel and soap ready, cant we all agree to use the short for baht.....and just type THB.
