Pattaya is a city with a massive tourist population , half of whom are drinking themselves to oblivion and the other half are the lower Russian Mafia family holidays or  jappo coach tours..... therefore its no surprise to find a bit of crime or those looking to lift a good purse..

There have been a number of European / western police or ex police working along side the Thai police in Pattaya for a while now but usually in an "advisory / consultant" capacity to deal with the western trash tourists that frequent Beach Road at 5am
