LB Movie Makers arrested in Pattaya?

Damn, we didn't know you guys were risking jail time.

Now, pre-op LBs go to men's jails, right? Maybe it wouldn't be all bad. At least while the hormones are still effective.

Seriously, that such things are illegal in Thailand is news to me. How might one do it in a legit way?

Your not going to do it in a "legit way" in Thailand. They have to many morality laws to prevent it. Remember, prostitution is illegal in Thailand also. Not that I can ever remember someone (foreigner) getting arrested for it.

Thailand - Police crack down on legal age Sunday, March 4, 2007

There was a meeting of Bar and Whore House operators recently at the Alcazar Theatre, Pattaya ordered by the governor of Chonburi Provence, in attendance were all of the local government and police officials.

Here are the main points of the meeting:

No bar, club , go-go , or karaoke will be given an operators license without having cctv installed both inside and outside there premises, this comes into effect immediately, no license will mean closure.

No employee under 20 years of age will be allowed to work in a licensed premises , the police will enforce this and the business owner will be held responsible and dealt with under the law.

The police gave out registration forms at the meeting on which employers must keep a registration of workers with personal details and a photograph similar to passport photograph along with id details, police and government officials to have access to these files on request.

Other points were:

random drug testing on both employees and customers

official closing times

licenses to play music

To us pornographers, as the bars are our main source of talent, this means government aid in insuring that the talent we shoot are of legitimate age. I have talked at length about this issue in the past and I for one applaud the  local authorities for enforcing laws protecting children from entering the world of prostitution. The legal age requirement of a sex worker in Thailand is now 20, 2 years older than in America.

This is Thailand.... nothing changes... No laws, no CCTV cameras and no occasional arrests will change anything.

One arrest does NOT a 'crackdown' make!

Pattaya Police are under huge pressure from the national police chief for allowing crime to run rampant in the city. Therefore in a typical reaction, expect to be seeing a lot of arrests of foreigners involved on the sidelines in 'dodgy' activity which allows the local guys to demonstrate that they have things under control and are ridding the city of undesirables.

I would also expect that we will see some kind of 'foreign mafia' arrests in the not too distant future as this is the cause (ie the 2 Russian women murdered on the beach in Jomtien) behind the latest critisism coming out of Bangkok.

After a couple of weeks, everything will return to normal.

Thailand is very predictable.

Someone complains, it gets in the news, there is a huge crackdown, lots of headlines, the politicians are applauded, and then everything goes back to normal.

I didn't see any CCTV cameras at Stringfellows last night.
