If you are looking for ladyboys in pattaya you cant go wrong , everytime i go there seems to be more and more
maybe theres a factory on the outskirts of town churning more out every month
as well as the known bars , soi 6 , 7 , 8 have quite a few in gg bars as has walking street
also worth a look is the bars of second road , soi diana , soi bakau , and soi new plaza , quite a few doted around there
one place i remember is the new orn bar in soi diana , about 8 or 10 in there , i remember this well caus i used to carry on with the lbs in there as i walked past at night , one night i was joking with one when another sneeked up and pulled my shorts down in the middle of the street after that i got tortured walking past

Billy, because you think it is my first LB trip or because I am going to visit Pattaya? I have three BKK visits and more than 20 different LB's so although a novice I am not easy to shock. Are you saying Pattaya is so very different to Bangkok?

I am returning to Sydney to live next month and want to take a week off before starting in a new role. Bangkok will satisfy most of my nocturnal needs but I think I need the rejuvenation of sun and salt water also so I figure Pattaya must be worth a look for a few days. Sadly, I know nothing about the place.


I think the 131 thread has given me all the motivation and information I need with regards the girls so I just need to get my lodgings sorted.

I liked the look of the Areca (recommended by Rob in the hotel thread) and wondered if everything is walking distance in Pattaya. Can I expect to be able to walk from the beach to Areca and then to 131?

Is that a reasonable goal from any/everywhere in Pattaya?

I highly recommend The Haven in soi 13.
Splendid rooms with all Areca's has with the price off 960 THB.

I stayed at Areca on both my last visit this week to Pattaya and the one before that about 10 days previous. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The standard room is only 1150 baht including breakfast and the place has 2 great pools, an internet cafe for a baht a minute. The place is actually not no smoking just you have to smoke on the balcony which every rooms has which in my opinion is a great idea as it does not leave the stale odour of cigarette smoke for the next customer.

Billy is right about the second guest but how often does one have more than one guest? It is also walking distance to stringfellows ands 131 and there a great little restaurant called Kiss on the corner of soi dianna inn and 2nd road.

On my last trip I booked in at the DIG for 2 nights and then the Dynasty Inn-Pattaya for 3 nights (free shuttle bus )

After this my intention was to stay at the Areca Lodge so I went there with my "teerak" on my bike and went to book a deluxe-room (1350baht) facing the front pool for 10 nights

Unfortunately they only had one available for 4 nights and then a Standard twin room after that so I had to decline.

It is a non-smoking hotel but as ozzie says you can smoke on the balcony and being a smoker myself this does not bother me and I think its also a good idea.
The Areca also has the best hotel buffet breakfast I have had in my stay's in    

If I ever go to Pattaya again I will pre-book in advance to stay at the Areca

OK, I think I am going to stick with Areca. Franck, appreciate your advice but a small amount of THB means fuck all when I get to spend a week in Thailand a couple of times a year. Prefer to stay somewhere expensive and very good.

Looks like my trip will be first week of July. Work is dragging on and on here in BJ and I will probably have to go back to Sydney and go to Thailand from there.

I am aware of some social functions scheduled for that week so my time will be split between BKK and Pattaya according to those.

Hi Franck, I just went to the haven web site...seems like a nice hotel...is it LB friendly ?.....does everyone have a full view if u r taling a GG or LB to yr room?...any help appreciated...thnx

I'll second Ozzie's recommendation of the Areca Lodge...I stayed in the standard room and it is nicer than the Dynasty and in a much quieter location...Breakfast is for two...and they also serve Thai food if that is your bent..

I'll will definitely stay there again...

Alternative view of the Areca Lodge (where I have stayed before without problems).

In April, I booked a room by e-mail for 4 weeks in advance and faxed my credit card details in case I did not turn up because it was a late arrivel in the evening.

The bastards charged ny card for all 4 nights 3 weeks before I arrived!! I asked them to cancel my reservation and return my money.

AL: "Sorry sir, cannot....money already in our bank"
Me: "If you can accept a credit card transaction, you can reverse it"
AL: "Sorry sir, cannot....money already in bank. We can cancel your booking and you can have credit for next time you come"
Me: "There is not going to be a next time.....return my fucking money please"

I still have not got my money back. My credit card company is after them

I wanted to cancel the reservation as soon as I found out they had charged my card in advance - about 3 weeks before I was due to arrive.

No way am I staying somewhere that demands payment up front

As you know already the Areca doesn't normally do that and I could understand you if you had a change of plans
They did take a 3000baht deposit from me over the phone last November however when I had pre-booked a Executive room (2080baht per night) for 8 nights

I had to pay a couple of days in advance when I was "flitting" to and from from the Dynasty Hotel's in BKK and Pattaya this trip even though they dont ask for a deposit when you send them an e-mail making a booking

So where did you end up staying out of curiousity Stewart?
