I read this online earlier and actually thought it was a balanced and accurate article. At the end of the day, the truth is the truth and its pretty well described IMHO.

I think she is tallish... but compare his height to the motorbikes and baht bus. He's a shortarse!

I thought the article was pretty close. the only part I thought a bit overplayed was about the shooting range.

Pick a pistol and you can fire at a life-sized cut-out of a man, then take the target home as a souvenir, which Bird did.

Or you can blast away with a pump-action shotgun - the kind of weapon Bird used on his murderous rampage.

You aim at metal squares - a paper target would be no good because one hit from a powerful cartridge would shred the target.

Shooting targets are pretty standard the world over and most of the people who go to a range like that do it once just to find out what it's like to fire a gun.

Like Derrick Bird, many of the men who come to Pattaya are lonely and delusional enough to mistake a transaction for a relationship.

Not sure this is correct. Perhaps they would rather fuck hot-looking 18-25 yo girls than the choices they get back at home. I once asked Bumblebee, in all the time he'd spent in Thailand, if he'd ever ridden an elephant? He said "nope, but I did ride a few back in Ireland. Nasty beasts some of them are!"

Although it is not the usual garbage that is published British media about Thailand, one of the underlying themes of the article is that serial killers hang out in Pattaya (i.e. somehow this experience is related to their crimes?") If anything, hanging out in Pattaya and banging lots of hot chicks and LBs makes me a "kinder, gentler" person back home.

In most British cities, the street would be full of girls brawling, sprawling and spewing. In Pattaya, they're smiling, decorous and attentive.

Good call.............. but I have also seen girls brawling, sprawling and spewing in Pattaya
