Too loud music is Family Bar in Nakula, or any of the Family Bars for that matter.

As a general rule, with some exceptions, I find Thai owned bars play the music louder than Farang owned bars. Too many places play their music too loud. No matter what the customers may think. I have never heard of anyone complain in a lb bar that the music wasn't loud enough.

The best music volume is Sally's Bar. I can hear the music plain as day, but I never have to talk over the music to be heard and never have to ask a friend to repeat himself because the music was drowning him out. I don't go to lb bars to have my ear drums assaulted and abused.

Until now Ezy followed by Stringfellows...

But there is still much more to discover for me in town.

During my last trip my favorite bar for some cold beers was in front of the Linda Bar on Walking Street. Only with barstools. The barkeeper (owner?) was a mature blond ladyboy. It was a fantastic place to watch the people on the street. In front of the bar was a beauty salon where many ladyboys going in and out.

Hot Tuna/My Way........that is my favourite, most vibrant part of town and where my two best shagging partners of this year were based, namely Rose & Tum

Ezy would be second best for me with Stringfellows a long last......one beer is enough for me in there

A newcomer to Pattaya should visit all the above bars. If u don't like it you can leave after one drink and even the most expensive place, Obsessions, has a draft beer that won't break your back.

Some say the faint of heart should avoid HiBoss. I've never had trouble there though I haven't gone in years so maybe the nervous types can give it a miss..

All the bars have their own distinct personality and you're going to like some and not others.

I hardly ever go out to the bars cause I'm not looking for ladyboys and just can't afford paying tourist prices when all I really want to do is drink with my mates.

But I've always like LaBamba, EZY, and Sally's and would rate them my favorites. Other guys love the gogos. Still other guys meet them at foodstalls on Pattaya Tai at 2AM or shopping at the Tuesday/Friday market or working at internet shops or pizza parlors. That's not a good plan for a two week visitor though.

I've noticed 2 people have mentioned Ezy with Karl which makes me wonder what its like without?  Is there a big drop off? Inmates running the asylum? Is it that much different without him.

I plan on visiting most of them when I go. I'm getting a better feel for what I may like, where to start an evening and where to finish.

It really depends "why" you're going to EZY.

If you are going to find a ladyboy for the evening or shortime then it doesn't matter too much if Karl is there or not.

But if you're going to chill and hang out with mates then it's better if Karl's around, he'll play your favorite music, and it has more of a clubhouse feel.

As far as timing, EZY is open verrry late so especially good for all night flyers.

Not really my type of ladyboy in there (apart from the stunning Jen ) but a great place to have a laugh and a drink late at night ,and Karl never ceases to amaze with his eclectic mix of tunes

                          I say La Bamba

Not necessarily where I would make the most barfines at but it's the LB bar I spend most time in (I like to bask in Burenboy's reflected glory and be treated well )

Honourable mention to Sally's Bar, New Orn Bar and Ezy

Many of the others have some sexy ladies but I really couldn't be arsed spending much time there

By the way, lots of fun to be had at drinking street if you can be bothered to drag your ass out there
                          No honey, no money!!

Great historical shot showing the bar's genesis.
