If you are driving your car or motobike then take Rossco's route.

But I'd be quite surprised if a baht bus driver will bring an individual to Pattaya Water Park for 10 baht.

I concur with going the way BurenBoy suggests if you want to pay 10 baht.
It's just an easy ten minute stroll without traffic once you get off.

There's a queue of baht busses on the SE corner of Pattaya Tai (Pattaya South Road) and Second Road.   Just get on the baht bus that other people are on, you can check with the other farangs on the baht bus that it's indeed going to Jomtien.  When it fills it goes to Jomtien.

Talking to a baht bus driver can be construed as hiring it as a private taxi and the last thing one needs is a switcheroo of the stated prices and an unpleasant scene when leaving the baht bus.

I wonder how So-What is going to adapt to the sand court.  My GPS shows me 10,600 km away right now so I am relying on the on-the-spot reporting of BB and the others.

Breaking News

A BM visited Family Bar whose owners had decided NOT to participate (18th Sept)
For a Bar to enter they were required to pay 3,000 Baht Entry fee - NOT Sponsorship.

Family Bar in Naklua told this BM tonight, at about 8.00pm, that they wanted to play.

Imagine - all the admin/funding had been realigned to suit 5 contesting bars.

I went o visit Family Bar Naklua at 1.00am to break the news - Too Late.
I had been busy tying up directions/logistics/auction items in other committed bars.

To see the sad faces in Family Bar was a sight to see. So what to do?

I explained that the bar must pay an entry fee to participate.3,000 Baht and they could play.
(I am a hard bar steward!)

The Girls all said "But Gary promised he sponsor us" - confusion.
Sponsorship is distinctly different to Entry Fee.
I explained all this, in my best 'Tinglish', that now it was too late. My partner helped explain the situation, with 13 hours to go, that so much had already been prepared and that now 'What could we do?'

They implored me to contact our BM Gary - at 2.00am. I sent an SMS and Gary replied.
We spoke and he has agreed to pay the Family Bar entry fee.
I applaud Gary but am so disappointed that, after 4 months of negotiation, and effort, it was only 13 hours prior to the contest that their fervor, and eagerness, to play came to light.

Family Bar is now in only due to the incredible generosity of Gary at the 11th hour.

They have 6 players and know that they have only a small chance/hope.
I attempted to explain the necessary tactics, of 6 players, using bar accessories!
They are keen as hell but no practice.

The Mamasan understands that the contestants must be at the party, to collect their reward, and Nadia will personally cover their Bar Fines, from her own purse, to do so. That is just superb.

So Big Cheers to:

1) A remarkable bar
2) A brilliant BM (Gary)
3) A superb Mamasan.

They deserve all the support in spite of the bar owners letting them down - TIT!!!!
(If you only knew how much effort I put in, to involve Family Bar Group, you would understand my elation right now)

Unfortunately it has meant a last minute 'ditch' for me to reorganize the event to now accommodate 6 bars.

Now 2 groups of three will play each other (A plays B and C and B plays C - ditto D, E, F) - if no distinct winner, within the group, a point difference will decide the winner of that group.

The winners of the 2 groups will go ahead to the final.

So the party will now have 36 LB contestants, 11 Bar owner representatives (2 per bar and the Mamasan of Family Bar) and 10, physically present, terrific sponsors. The other 10 will, unfortunately, not be present but still found it in their pockets to contribute. Brilliant.

When a bar paid their entry fee it was on the understanding that they would see their team receive, even as not winning, 6 x 500 Baht in prize money and also have free entry to the party. So a bar that lost would get:

6 x 500 Baht for their players
8 x 500 Baht for the party tickets
and
Complimentary drinks from me

Not a bad deal for a 3,000 Entry fee.
4 Bars have also contributed their "logo" T/Sweatshirts for the auction - I may actually buy them all!

I hope all those attending will recognize that this is a charity event and directed at fund raising for Kids in need - no complimentary tickets.

Thanks again to all those who have supported financially both publicly and quietly - the kids will appreciate what you did.

Gary deserves a LB Medal of Merit for his incredible generosity at the last minute - he had already sponsored a bar so, to now offer, to pay a bar Entry Fee is superb.

If all goes well today (now 5.30am for me) we will:

1) Contribute 60,000 to 70,000 to a worthy cause
2) Promote the main participating bars in a positive way
3) Improve the image of the LBs we all like so much - they get much bad press and yet 99% are great people
