Although there are a few freelance genetic girls, they don't seem too busy; it seems to be morphing into a place to eat or drink with mates.

Even on a hot day, the breeze, fans, and shade make it a pleasant place to hang out.

Seemed like nothing was going on there last weekend (at least not too much) so we didn't go there.

What always makes me wonder... the sign at the entrance says "Single ladies welcome", wouldn't it make more sence if it was in Thai an not in English?!?

Maybe they were addressing the euro hookers who dance in that bar in Walking St. There's nothing wrong with the idea of a beer garden on the beach but it won't succeed just by being cheap. After all, you can sit on the beach or under the trees just behind it and drink all the cheap beer you want. The place needs a theme. A beer garden with all LB service staff might work.

What I want, which admittedly is quite different from what most guys want, is a comfortable bar where I can chat with my mates and where the girls and ladyboys leave me alone since I'm not butterflying.

So it's fine if there are no girls or it's OK if a girl attempts to ingratiate herself to me as long as she takes my no as an answer and fucks off. I prefer to not have to ask a 2nd time and if I have to ask three times I'm outta there.

My first choice is an outdoor bar that is cool enough such that air con is not necessary to be comfortable. And since I'm on a tight budget the 50 baht Happy Hour Heineken's are a real plus. Non happy hour prices are 65 baht for a Heineken and also for many drinks.

This place could easily charge 100 for drinks but then I'd still go but nurse one. At 65 baht I can drink freely.

It seems Pattaya Beer Garden has made the decision to price itself so ex pats as well as tourists will make multiple visits.

The concern about beer prices may sound ridiculous to guys spending 5k+ a day on holiday, but when you live here price matters.

I also like the beergarten at the Welkom Inn on Soi 3 which has gg girls from the "Belgian Embassy" next door. But without the ocean breeze it can get rather hot.

Some guys just prefer to be in a nice air con place like Shennanigans which is OK too. But I prefer outdoor places but this is Thailand not Bavaria.

Not sure. But the entrance is right before where Beach Road becomes Walking Street. You walk a long corridor passing alongside the beer bar complex with the muay thai boxing ring and eventually you're at the entrance.

My .02 USD worth - if I am to be in Pattaya I will certainly not look for, let alone support, a venue that bans LBs - cheap Heinekens and beach side ambiance be damned

While I hope this fellow is just a good man making some poor choices, it could be that he is a complete dick head as well

Either way, you will not find me spending my time or money in his establishment while I am out of town for a few days...

...but if he hires some gorgeous LBs at wait staff, that would be a different story, hehe

Just to clarify, ladyboys are not banned from Pattaya Beer Garden. My teerak was there with me the other night.

However, ladyboy hookers are not permitted to freelance there. But I doubt that they would even want to. Although the place is busy it seems most customers are content to eat and drink with mates and aren't going there looking for prospective sex partners.

thats quite curious as i thought that was the basic idea of the place ala the soi 7 beergarden in bangkok? yes you buy drinks and food but pick up a freelancer as well if you want to?

I would start my late afternoon there at the Beer Garden before heading off to Sally's etc. What Pig Dogg says about the bar is spot on, the breeze comming off the Sea plus music not too loud makes it a perfect place to meet up to start the evening off the food there is excellent also.
