    Pattaya Beer Garden

Looks like a nice place for a late afternoon drink.

Operated by Pattaya Pete who used to own the FLB.

    Not for ladyboys though.

Soft opening around the 20th and grand opening April 29th.

To be realistic I think this is gonna have limited appeal to most of us. I don't go to that crappy city to drink the beer.

If it was staffed by ladyboys then I'd be interested, but another beer hole with pudgy soulless Thai girls isn't gonna get on my list of 'must see' places to visit.

I wonder how much a prime location like that costs to buy or rent.

Plus how much do you think the owner will have to pay to keep the place open? There's probably no such place like it for a reason...

There is a long thread on this new venue in Pattayatalk.com, the Freelancer bar site.

Pattaya Pete has decided to ban LBs from this venue due to strong views expressed from Board Members.

Perhaps a little early in the business cycle to pronounce such an edict, could be costly in the long term

Pattaya Beer Garden is an excellent place to have a couple beers as you get a very nice breeze blowing from Pattaya Bay. Good music at the right volume too.

Heineken is only 50 baht during happy hour which is from 3 to 5 and also from 9 to 11. Considering that the same Heineken costs 35 baht at the 7-11, you're only paying a 15 baht premium for the great outdoor setting. At other times a Hiney is only 65 baht, same same price as many sweaty beer bars.

Contrast that with the overpriced food at the adjacent Lobster Pot where you're paying top dollar for the ambiance.

Pattaya Beer Bar is a great place to enjoy a cold beer either on a hot afternoon or in the evenning. Visited there a couple of weeks ago and found it to be a really good spot. Staff were very friendly and beer prices reasonable.
We must support new ventures like this one if we wish to have people prepared to invest capital into new drinking and/or other establishments.

                        That's a very magnanimous thought....

And you may consider my thoughts selfish, but I only support a businesses because it serves a benefit to me not because I feel some obligation to its bottom line...

I doubt if any bar in Pattaya or anywhere else for that matter is set up as a charity .
