The 'monk day' (as Herself calls it
) was on Sunday. That's why the bars were closed.
As it would normally be a public holiday and it fell on a Sunday the public holiday was on the Monday instead.
But the bars were open Monday for those fortunate to be in Bangkok - lucky bastards!
