a nice hotel near guess bar?

Hi, can anyone give me some advice,this will be my first time in thailand,first lb experience..........i'm looking for a nice hotel near nana plaza or the guess bar,80$ or under per night,planning on staying in bangkok for 7 nights,hopefully to meet a beautiful ladyboy......thanks for any help,also what a pleasure to read all the topics on this excellent site,thanks again.

$80 will get you a lot of room!

I'd recommend the place where KatoeyLover stays as the best all around value for your buck and LB guests are very welcome too...

The Majestic Grande

It's about a ten minute walk from The Guess Bar.

But the rooms over The Guess Bar are fantastic for short or long time... cheap too. 650 Baht all night or 350 for a couple of hours...

The Majestic Grande cheapest rooms are 3200 THB per night which is nearly $100 USD at the current exchange rate. Also you have to walk pretty slow to take 10 minutes to get to Guess Bar.

Dynasty Grande is in soi 6 and about 15 minutes walk and at 2280 THB per night about $70 USD seems to be more in your price range. There are many other hotels closer like the Dynasty Inn on soi 4, The JW Mariott on soi 2, The Landmark and Majestic Suites on Sukhumvit Rd but all seem to be either way below or way above your $80 USD price range. I assume you mean USD as you do not say what currency?

I have stayed in both Majestic Grande & Dynasty Grande & would recomend them to anyone, Majestic Grande has the slight edge on luxury, but its dearer.

Ozzie 15 mins to Guess Bar from Dynasty Grande is a pretty slow walk too. I find I start speeding up once I start thinking about being en-gulfed in LB's.

thanks guys,about £40 will do nicely,i need to save lots of cash to spend in the guess bar and nana plaza.........i will book the majestic grande.

It depends what route you take, you could cut thru' by Annies, but then he would have stop by for a quick soapy.

Or you could always stay at the Marriott and LOOK at Guess Bar from your window as its across the street - the girls are easy to spot when they go out for food as they are the only girls looking drop dead gorgeous in stockings, short tight dresses and impossibly high heels Invaribaly whenever i go in, I see at least 2/3 of them outside buying food at the local thai food place next to the KFC. The look on the office girls faces is priceless when the Guess Girls recognise me and then stop, wai me and then carry on......Up until that point the GG office girls probably thought I was quite cute hehe.

Another good hotel is the Grand Business Inn. I stay here whenever I visit Bkk. Very guest friendly - Brocklanders has some photos of the rooms as he stayed there as well.

Very guest friendly, Sukhumvit Soi 11, only about 15 min walk from Nana Plaza and 20 min from Guess Bar.

Free high speed internet access in room, by way of network port, computers in lobby for guest use if you don't have your own laptop. Free breakfast in the restaurant.

I agree with Mardhi...go for the Mariott. Right across the street from Guess Bar...one minute walk from Nana Plaza. Even without these features, it's a great hotel..especially for the price. Last time I stayed there I paid 107 USD/night...that was a couple of years ago.

Dont be put off by the fact that it's a 5 star hotel. I've brought numerous GG's and LB's there and nobody's raised an eyebrow yet. But I do tend to dress neatly and move through the lobby quickly and quietly with my guests so as not to attract undue attention.

The gym is also excellent if you're into that kind of thing.

Highly recommended.

I had previously stayed at JW Marriott and it is a very good hotel but on my last visit (in March) the prices seemed completely different. The cheapest rate I could find was nearly 7000 - not helped by the fact that every single package included breakfast - and many were as much as 10 or 12000 per night.

The advance rate for Marriott was 4480 just couple of weeks ago which is not too bad - especially when the company is paying. This was a 21 day advance rate.
