First Impressions

First time visit to Guess Bar.

The welcome was superb, the girls - not many when I got there - were hunnies. Jay was such a great hostess.

Other views are welcome and I really hope this is one venue that will be around for years.

My first impression was "Hmmm... I'm in a ladyboy bar and I don't want to hurt someone."

First time I have ever felt that way, so I stayed and liked and went again!

First Impressions:

Its bigger than i thought it was going to be.

Its quieter than the average bar.

I liked what I saw, not the building site  , so I just  wanted to post my support for the place.

Jeez, they come a long way from Day One minus a week.  

Glad to be living here and have such a top bar without the pressure.

I finally made my first visit to the bar last night. My initial impressions were positive. Nice ambience, an owner who is able to make sure all the customers are happy without being intrusive, some lovely hostesses, reasonable drinks prices and very comfortable.

It's a shame about the toilets being at the other end of the building, but no big deal. The place could do with a few more girls as it's a very popular bar and the customers outnumbered the girls when I was there.

The only really negative aspect of the bar was the pair of self-important little twerps strutting around with their cameras.

If you're planning a first trip to Thailand, this is the perfect bar for you. It's clean, the staff appear very honest and everyone is friendly. There's a clean short time room upstairs, and the girls would be only to happy to escort you there.

For the repeat visitors and expats, this is a nice, discreet addition to the rounds.

When you get right down to it, what more could a customer ask for from a Bangkok LB bar?

Yes myself , Snick and Mardhi should all put our camera's away and also stop posting our pics on the forum , so that nobody gets to enjoy them and that the amount of customers coming into the bar declines and the Bar and its staff end up 2nd guessing themselves and start fighting and bitching over customers and tips .

Maybe i am over estimating the power of the in bar pictures to draw in the customers to Guess or maybe not . But you can be sure we never included facial details or distinguishing marks of any customers if they happen to appear in out foto's , i am also happy to delete foto's on the spot if anyone appearing in them doesnt like what they see .

The one who actually looked like he knew what he was doing with a real camera was asked to take some specific pictures for an upcoming advertising campaign.

As for the second one, well what can I say, we humour him - one day he might actually work out how to put the flash card into the camera but until then, we are all safe enough...

But joking aside, the shoot was for a specific reason - no customers were captured and the primary shoot took place at the other end of the bar out of site of any customers - incidentally both guys are trusted members of the forum.

Well put MM & Mardhi, although imho, totally unnecessary to go into the details u did, the foto's and commentaries on the Guess Bar and the outstanding staff are always welcome to those of us who have spent time in the bar and actually "read" and take note of previous posts,vis a vis cameras, "little twerps", lol, a comment that shoulda been made in person perhaps,

Huh? The numbers don't tally with my own experience that night and the snapping of photos was unobtrusive and provided, for me, a permanent record of my first night and, for other less fortunates, a clue as to what goes on in the place.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion and there must be some who don't enjoy Guess Bar but these comments are plainly inaccurate.

I do not see what the problem is as long the pictures are restricted to a few trusted photographers.

They provide and insight into what happens in the bar and of course provides it with some directed exposure. This means more customers and hence more girls and stable drink prices etc.
