Well I suppose it's an easy shot.  

However, given all the comments/suggestions/advice about the new bar and all the ideas offered (great and small) surely there is a place for comment about the 'logo' which is after all an image that will become associated with the bar.  

It seems that Jay & Co have put a lot of thought into all aspects of the bar, right down to the upholstery. Why not an equal amount re the logo ? If it's not that important (unlike the Xmas tree  ) then why design one in the first place ?  

The ? does look out of whack. No need to be a graphic artist to see that. In that 'other' place, a guy has actually come up with a modification to the original design which not only makes sense, but looks much better.

I have just commented on this on the other forum so I may as well put similar answer on here.

For a start the logo will not be changed - its already in process of trademark registration. Secondly, the logo was designed that way for a reason - everybody knows the question mark looks different to the guess bar name - that was intentional. As I said on the other forum, the designer had to be aware of what Guess Inc. has already trademarked and work around that. The choice of colours and plain background is deliberate to match the theme inside the bar.

Personally I think he has done a great job - its created a lot of interest and is probably I would guess already the most recognisable and memorable logo of any LB bar in Thailand. That in itself is a huge achievement for a bar that is just 3 weeks old.

LOL - After reading your impressive trip report, I am amazed you are not going back sooner. I have always thought of going to Brazil but not yet made it.

Does Varig fly direct from Singapore (I think they used to, but not sure).

If Brazil came to Bangkok even if just for a few weeks, would make for a great theme party at the Guess Bar! Although I do personally think the bar should be bigger with a few cubicles or places to hide away a little.

Nope. Too far for direct flights. You can either go via South Africa, or Europe, or Aos/NZ.

Mazoun,

Don't worry, Guess Bar is quite closed from the Ambassador Hotel. You could even walk to Guess Bar (approx 15 minutes). If you take a taxi, tell the driver to go to sukhumvit soi 1 and look for Sukhumvit 1 Plaza (close to Pizza Hut on Sukhumvit main road). Guess Bar is inside Sukhumvit 1 Plaza on the 1st floor. No worry you can get there easily.

You would be quicker walking than getting a taxi
Come out of the Ambaasador on to sukhumvit, turn right  on same side of the road and keep walking for about 10 minutes at the most, across the traffic lights, then come to the kentucky fried chicken, and hey presto your there at the bar complex, go in , take the stairs to the 2nd floor, turn left and its the last bar on the right, then your in heaven

P.S. The Ambassador Hotel aint all that bad, the room I stayed in (Tower wing I think) was good
