Whilst the bar has only been open for 4 nights of trading, if Stogie's photos are anything to go by the quality of Ladyboy per square metre of bar area could soon surpass the other traditional ladyboy venues in BKK.

Given the size of "Guess Bar ?", you are never going to have the number of ladyboys available in Obsessions or Cascades, but knowing Jay's attitude, she will be very select in who she employs and work towards having a top notch line up of "honeys".

Like any new venture, it takes time to get established, source staff and build up a clientele base.

Certainly nice to have another option in BKK !

I stopped by last night around 11:45p to check out this place. Overall, nice lay out, smallish, with about five or six girls there. The lights were a little bright for my tastes (although some would prefer being able to avoid any strobelight honeys) and there was no music on to 'set the mood'. The girls had the plamsa on and were watching some Pattaya ladyboy beauty contest.

There was only one punter there making himself comfortable on one of the couches with two ladies. Truthfully, besides Jay, none of the ladies appealed much to me.

The bar is on the second floor at the end of a bunch of other GG bars. You won't see any signs by the staircase indicating Guess Bar is on the second floor, but it is.

My recommendations for making it a better draw:
1) Lower lighting, not dark, but 'loungy' dark
2) Some good lounge music like ambient house style such as cafe del mar
3) A free shot of Tequila for all new customers!

Jay called me last night and was telling me how happy she is - lots of guys have been popping into the bar and everyone is telling her how nice they think her bar is.

Jay also told me she has hired her new cashier who started last night and has hired already 6 definate new starters for the 1st/2nd December with more likely to start once they get paid.

The good thing about having the new cashier is she able to spend more time on the customer side of the bar that means we customers get to see more of these fantastic legs, as she invariably is wearing skirts in the bar with high stiletto heels as a way of setting an example to her staff and not allowing them to look like something the cat has dragged in. No flip flops are allowed which is a major relief on my part at least. She was also telling me about her plans for some special parties in the next month. Once she tells me when and what I will make a thread about the special events.

Hey thats valuable feedback Bigdawg - Did you relay your idea's to Jay while you were there? The sign on the staircase is something she is working on - apparently she has said to the building owner - if she pays for the paint, can he re-paint the staircase and then she put up loads of signs for Guess Bar - He said sure, if you pay (Typical Chinese Thai landlord LOL). Still will help her no end.

I know they are experimenting with lighting - some people think its too bright, others think its too dark. I suggested maybe make the sofa end darker and the bar end lighter. I think it will settle down in time and next week the gilt edged mirrors will be going onto the walls which I think will add some more 'ambience' to the place.

I guess Miss Alcazar is an annoying situation - I saw exactly the same thing in Casanova when they had Miss Tiffany International on a couple of weeks ago. Seems that this is a 'must watch' show regardless. Seems to me a better solution is to allow the TV to be on but eithe without sound or at most very quiet and then music on the sound system. Having said that, they may not now how to switch the sound around as the Plasma was only installed 24 hours ago.

Still very useful feedback for Jay - she needs to understand how her customers are thinking - feel free to mention anything to her - she is very receptive to feedback, hence the soft opening period as things ramp up for December when all the new girls arrive.

Barfines are 500 baht - so 100 baht cheaper than Nana. Drinks are approx: 20% cheaper than Nana.

Small worlds, BigDawg. You must have been the man in black. That other punter at 11:45 was me, on the couch with Janny and Nat(?).

I didn't mind the Purple Star on the telly- it provided another thing to bullshit and chat about.

I did think the lighting was a bit bright last night.

Bought each lady drinks. Nat surprised me by having a Heineken, while Janny drank the straight rum punch house standard. Neither girl minded heavy petting right there in the bar.

Seemed a bit warm when I first walked in, having walked down from Phloen Chit BTS station (exit 6, I believe) on a very humid night. Got just the right customer service- air was cranked up a bit (I think) and immediate cold towel wipe by Nat.

Excellent training, Jay. Your girls gave me just what I needed at the time. Didn't barfine either girl last night- too tired from working all day.

On the way out, I was jumped on by an extremely passable LB standing near the next bar. Her name was Is. She first dragged me up to the ST floor, with another hot makeout session on the stair landing. Told her I was way too tired to take her. She said she doesn't work there, but had just come to see a friend. As we were going back downstairs, she got the better of me and dragged me into the hong naam for a quick BJ!

I wonder if the girls in the other bars are noticing an increase in traffic, all headed up to floor 2?

Did she have short dark hair in an 'Areeya' lookalike style Socrates??? If so, she is starting working in Guess bar on about 1st December. If its the one I am thinking of she is very cute and a friend of Nats.
