Maybe high pressure pushing works on some guys, but for me, I walk out.  If I say no 3 times and they still push, that is my cue to depart.

Sure wish bar managers would take note as they are loosing business...

I posted in another thread, I was always having a great time in Carnival my first few weeks in Bangkok (about 2 months ago). Had a regular girl there, and found the selection stunning - and btw, some of the same BM's now saying how great it is, said 'no way ever!' when I was posting that at the time, if I remember right

But then...
I did have the worst bar experience ever there, completely out of the blue, with the 2 mamasans I hadn't seen very often before. They (literally) demanded that I barfine whoever they told me to, on the spot as I stepped onto the 3rd floor, and tried to back me against the railing outside to intimidate me - this wasn't the 'sexy' grab your dick stuff. This was them literally trying to scare me into handing over whatever amount of money they said at first sight. It was much closer to a threat than anything else. I managed to maneuver my way out of it eventually, but it was a lot of work, and my adrenalin was up for hours after it happened. I'm not easily scared by stuff in the bars, actually. But I did feel that they didn't deserve my money there again, as I had always been very respectful of their place before that.

I do think people from the bars read the forums, or something - at least perhaps by coincidence or something else that happened around that time - they seem to have tried to friendly up the image again recently.

I forgot to mention that when I was talking to my girl, I looked down and there was a hand-written list of prices, ladydrinks, barfines, etc. in front of me. Ant pointed in the direction of the mamasan. I just flipped it over and kept talking. I wasn't bothered again.

No, I'm still not an enthusiast of Carnival.  But I admit Ant is fun and sexy..... and the drinks hassle has been toned down.  One of her fellow LBs described Ant .... 'oh, you mean the boy'

The place has taken a serious dive since October and the grand addition of another 25 ladyboys never happened and many of the existing crowd have left. Ill take another look tonight as maybe they all on Holiday over the last week.

Even Obsessions was empty last night with slim pickings and half the girls away

No high season here this year, no customers either, it was busier in October.

The drink ponce mamasan seems to have gone and Humpty Dumpty is in charge now , i offered her a drink and she didnt take it last night, i was going to phone the Bankok Post but lets see how she shapes up. They dont hassle me as its a complete waste of time and once they know that its not a problem... you just have to go in a lot to get a "non" listing

many of the girls are back although several have resorted to streetwalking.

I went to Carnival Bar for first time in 3 months last night. .....and I still hate it. Generally quality of girls has improved, and many now even speak English! BUT....still oppressively pushy to buy ladydrinks...the fat pig of a mamasan is still mooching around with a face like a can of worms ( and ugly worms at that!).....and even the Bull is fucked (about all that was there last night!).....its lying in several pieces in the bullring area. So not even that to lighten up the atmoshphere.

....you right, that bar sucks.....but some of the girls are more than worth to fished them out of this grey lake......
