Valid points by both yourself and RR. BUT!! - the truth is, saying is easier than doing. Why? because we come from countries where safety is of paramount importance in any public establishment, and even at times goes a bit overboard.
I may get shot down here but i would say probably about 85% of the BM's here don't even think to look for the safety implentations of the places we visit in LOS.I know I am certainly guilty of this.The reason is, because we are used to a high standard of health and safety at home, we ASSUME that everywhere else in the world follows the same procedures.
Add to that the ignorance factor. So even if we did look about a nightclub,for example, and see there were limited or no fire exits,this becomes non important if we really want to be there. Sometimes our mindsets get tuned into the " it wont happen to me" channel.
This tragedy has highlighted to us all the general lack of safety standards in LOS.The reality is, a month from now, most will have forgotten about, and be visiting such establishments without a care in the world.
