Guess Bar prices... Are they expensive?

Is the guess bar expensive? do you get dived on by 50 LB's as soon as you get in the door wanting drinks, bar fines???
Oh and can you get any action in the bogs apart from laying a cable? how about laying a LB in there?

No...BF is only 500 baht...Drinks the same or less than most bars in NEP...What you negotiate between you and the girl is between you and the girl...The bar has nothing to do with those prices...

There are only about 30 girls working the bar...maybe 15 to 20 in attendance at any one time...No, they won't bother you if you don't want them to...

What the fuck is a bog?  If you mean the toilet...Trust me, you won't want to stay in their long enough to take a fucking piss...

i would even prefer those to be shined up/cleaned...than to have a foot-rail...

Absolutely...But they are common property shared by all the tenants...One would think they just might was to clean them up a bit...But then again, Thai's could give a fuck about customers...And that sentiment is clearly evident in Guess Bar as well...and that extends beyond the toilets...The odd thing is, the girls don't appear to mind the filth and stench...Go figure...

The toilets are owned and maintained by the hotel. Tennants have offered to supplement the meagre cleaning rations doled out but its been declined as not required by the hotel. Seemingly the toilets are being completely redone soon once the hotel lobby is complete (coffee shop is done already). Due to the Thai social system, nobody is going to argue with the hotel owner on this point as the owner of the hotel is some 80 year old hi so lady whom everyone must respect, even if they dont agree with her.

Kahuna, you mentioned that point about money yesterday and I asked Jay about it. She checked and reverted that the issue arose as the bar gave you too much change (i.e change from 1000b instead of change from 500b note). Pong realised the mistake and at the end of the night waited until she cashed up. The takings were short of 500b as she suspected. The following day she probably wrongly flagged it with Yo and somewhere between the communication lines, the wrong terms were used. Nobody wanted it to come out that the customer had taken the money, just that they gave too much change due to the cashier making a mistake. There is no issue as far as Jay is concerned and she thinks it could have been better handled but she suspects its more a question of wrong / poor English ability than anything else. Due to standard controls in a Thai retail environment, the cashier is responsible to make up any loss hence her desire to ask you for the money back. Had Jay been there (and not in Hua Hin) she probably would have handled it very differently given her English ability is much better than the cashiers.

Was in Guess last night and there were about 15 girls in there at 8pm. The atmosphere was a lot more relaxed then Cascades, which I went into later, and I didn't get swamped by all the girls at once. As soon as I chose a girl to chat and have a drink with (Ink) all the others left us alone.
They have quite a few pretty girls in there but not the same numbers as the places in Nana.

In Cascades I did get swamped but in saying that so many of the girls in there are extremely beautiful and it's not such a bad feeling to have this happen with all those pretty faces.

I was in Guess Bar three and two nights ago. I agree with the commentators above - it's not expensive, although I was a bit surprised to find 20 bahts per game of pool added to the bill - it's not the amount but the principle!

The men's toilets are foul, but the ladies' aren't any better - trust me, I know...

In terms of being pestered, I walked in last Saturday at 9.00 pm and had to contend with a parade of talent all vying for my attention. Eventually, they stopped, as I just sat at the bar and drank my beer, smiling and saying hello, but otherwise ignoring them. Finally I caught the eye of the girl I was interested in (Ae), and I was not bothered by anyone else thereafter. I went back two days later (three nights ago), quickly found Ae again and was left alone. In my view, the bar is far less intense than the go-go bars in NP, and the music is great - mainly from the sixties and seventies.

I have just returned from 4 days in BKK, during which I visited every LB bar in NP and Guess Bar, taking home 8 ladies in the process. If anyone's interested in knowing what happened, and my impressions of all 4 NP bars, let me know, and I'll reveal all.

Hello Titian,

The 20 Baht/game is fairly standard though I have been in at least one place that charges 30.

Some places charge upfront at the table and some put it on the bill. Often they use a coloured chit for the pool games in your checkbin so it's easy to spot them doing it.
Though like always make sure the number of chits matches the number of games.

Admittedly the places that put it on the bill at the end all assume that you know it's the practice and you won't see any signs stating it.
