(Road Runner @ Jul. 30 2008,06:29) While this topic is drifting seriously off topic  -  has anyone seen Jamiesons Irish Whisky in BKK?

I know I should have looked myself but did not think of it until now.

    RR.
I've seen it at Villa (both in J Avenue on Thonglor and at the one across from the Emporium) every now and then when I was browsing around, but I can't be sure exactly when since I don't buy much whiskey locally.

Don't like Scotch much these days but the best I ever had was the one KL gave me for Xmas...

Can't remember what it was though, except it cost about 100 quid!

Both Bushmills and Jamesons are great whiskeys (although Laphroaig is still my favourite)

Bushmills (in Norn Iron) is the oldest licensed distillery in the world

Think We should do a pole BigMick, but me thinks Scotch would win, as most people believe the hype , but would be interesting all the same

errrrr,  Dave .....I didn't see Stella  listed even ONCE in your list of drink choices there!

and  I am still wondering why all the locals at the Duke of York were having a chuckle at the Yank when I ordered a few pints;  I LIKE that stuff!!

Proof in the Pudding with these pics that you really had Stella Artois Jai Dee
We also serve it in bottles

And as bigmick quite rightly pionts out Stella is more commonly known as "Wife Beater" in these neck of the woods so your probaly right the "locals" having a little "chuckle" at your expense being a Yank downing pints of the "wife beater"

ya Mick, as Dave rightly points out it was brought to my attention...  but myself and Stogs were even drinking it in London before we went north!   First time I have ever tried it, goes down well in draft, me thinks.  and now they own Anheuser Busch!

was never a wife-beater, just being my usual self was enough punishment for that lass

did they get to buy Anheuser Busch already or is it still in negotiation stage?

How do Americans feel about one of their major cultural icons (Budweiser) being bought by Belgians , of all people ?

It hopefully means that at last there will be an american beer that tastes of something.

                            to that !
